If your looking to buy your first danny kirwan c.d. then you wont go wrong
in this, his first solo album. [1974] I think if you know some history about danny you will be surprised how different his music is on this album to what was done in the fleetwood mac day's. The heavy guitaring has been replaced by banjo's, acoustic guitars, strings, infact its a very easy listening album. You will find most of these song titles on the ....RAM JAM CITY......complilation album which came out a few years ago. So there you go, enjoy your copy of second chapter. From here you may want to check out danny in his fleetwood mac days [ 1968-1972 ] A great artist.

Danny Kirwan is one of the most innovative and sensitive musicians from the music scene all along the years he was active. His ability as a composer, guitarist and singer, placed him in a privileged step of the way that leads to mastery. A true fallen angel that catalyzed the progress of his mentor, the same Peter Green, helping to expand their brand of class to the olympic level that we all recognize in the Green House.
All the output of D. Kirwan, in and out of FM, is in a high class level of charm, intensity, sensibility and vibrant passion. A real "house full of hopes and dreams" which, tragically, he was unable to find out, in his own life.
All my respect and admiration for Danny. His expertise and his songs will last forever.

danny wrote about 37 songs with fleetwood mac . all of the songs are available on various cd' s including compilations . he was fired and many music writers and fans assumed that danny was finished in music. i was very happy with all of danny's fleetwood mac songs . they were all enjoyable, if not fabulously wonderful. neither nick drake nor syd barrett nor jim morrison nor jimi hendrix( 4 casualties of the same era ) had as many great songs. if you believed the press danny was done, but over the next 4 years he released about 37 more songs ( a few alternate versions are included, and a few songs written by others ). the songs are from the time of the stevie nicks fm, and decades later i almost never have any interest in any fleetwood mac songs without kirwan, especially not the stevie fm . nearly all the solo songs by danny kirwan are great . he is a musician , songwriter, singer like no other and i haven't found anyone in music as consistently enjoyable to listen to in my 61 years.

Danny was one of the best songwriter/front men in FM with a flair for creating original melodic songs, with exquisite guitar playing. Despite what I have read about Danny's solo material being lame compared to his FM days, I found, his first solo album, very well put together with high quality melodic tunes - I was not disappointed. This album is not second rate, but rather a missing gem [not in I-tunes] - a must have for fans of the interim FM.
Additionally, nice touch for this CD copy is the inclusion of a short biography of Danny's musical career.

This album is overrated. Kirwan was a signficant influence during the middle period of Fleetwood Mac and wrote some wonderful songs on their albums. This solo album is a disappointment. Middle of the road music, dull melodies, nothing rocks.

I like earlier Fleetwood Mac, especially Jigsaw Puzzle Blues featuring Danny. Disappointed with this cd. A shame really. Wouldn't have bought if I'd heard some of the music before
