5.0 out of 5 stars The best version yet
I met the blues at Kooks Kleek is the best version of these famous tapes yet released.

1. The best remastering yet
2. At last placed in the correct running order of the gig
3. Great packaging and informative liner notes

If you want Bond, Bruce, Baker & Heckstall-Smith at their raucous live best look no further than this issue. And the...

3.0 out of 5 stars Reissue of well known tapes ?
Probably a reissue of the same tracks surfaced in the past on Charly label and, same year before, on the very old French BYG label (in the serie "Rock Generation" Voll 3 & 4).
Recorded at the Klook's Kleek, London, 15th October 1964.

If you want Bond, Bruce, Baker & Heckstall-Smith at their raucous live best look no further than this issue. And the further good news is its not going to be on the 4 Cd box set, so not a superfluous buy as you will still need this, the Solid Bond set & the mono BGO set for everything by this legendary band

4.0 out of 5 stars First time I met Graham Bond!, 3 July 2007
This review is from: I Met the Blues at Klooks Kleek (Audio CD)
Borrowed this record from Crewe Town Library in early 70's. Hadn't heard it for years till I bought this CD recently. Its just so great. Close your eyes and you're in a smokey intimate blues dive. Sweaty and raucous. Dodgy sound quality and raw raw r and b. Graham Bonds passion for the music shines through..."just hold that note there! - got the note, yeah! come on one more time..." So cool.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointment, 31 Aug. 2014

I bought (and still have) this CD on vinyl in 1992. I haven't played it for many years and I wish I had. I would not have bought
it if my memory had been more reliable. The first track (Wade in the Water) and the last (What I Say) apart, I found the list close to unlistenable. The sound reproduction is poor, Bond's vocals are way too limited (why on earth Bruce wasn't given the mike more often is a mystery) and the song choices baffling. The classy playing and Heckstall-Smith's solos still shine through however and you do get the impression this was a great live act. This CD falls short of that.
