A solidly built guitar rack and easy to assemble
on 11 November 2014
A solidly built guitar rack and easy to assemble. I'm just using this at home so I can't vouch for it standing up to the wear and tear of gigging but it's well made and folds down neatly. I do think it would be better as a four guitar rack than a five, with wider spacing between the neck rests on the upper bar. You have to be very careful not to bang the guitar you're taking out or putting back against the next guitar along. I only play acoustics so this might well be less of a problem with solid body electrics.
My only other niggle was that the strap button on the body of one regular sized acoustic stopped the guitar sitting firmly as the button sat directly on the bottom padded bar. I mostly sit to play and don't use straps so removing the button solved the problem .Smaller bodied guitars, in my case a couple of resonators and a parlour guitar are fine as the strap buttons fall between bottom bar and the back of the rack. It'd be a bit much to expect a wide range of sizes to fit absolutely perfectly on a rack so over all I'd say it's a good buy.
