I think that it would be fair to say that the reviews of this product have been mixed. As some reviews indicated that the product was dangerous, it was with some trepidation that it was ordered. However, having now received and fitted the product entirely satisfactorily I am a loss to understand some of the other oomments. This is a device that is intended to enable a lead terminating in a continental type 2 pin plug to be inserted safely into a UK 13 amp 3 pin socket. On opening up the cover, 2 clips are revealed that accept the pins of the continental plug. Once the pins are pushed firmly into the clips, the cover is closed, the retaining screw tightened and the continental plug is retained safely and securely within the body of the converter plug. It is a good product at a reasonable price that does its job well.

This works fine if you want to convert a 2 pin to 3 pin plug PERMANENTLY. It came fitted with a screw which could only be tightened, not loosened. Therefore it is impossible to remove the adaptor if you want to return to a 2 pin configuration. I had to destroy the plug in order to remove it again; it never saw a wall socket. I found no reference to this type of one way only screw in the product description.

Purchased 2 to connect my shaver and tootbrush chargers, however neither of them fit correctly. The issue is that even though the pins on a 2 pin plug are all the same size, the moulding around the pins are all different sizes. Therefore it will be pot luck if your 2 pin plug fits.

I think the best feature of this item is that you don't notice it once installed. It covers the whole EU plug, maybe a bit tight during initial set up but that only ensures that it does not fell out during the use. Looks like it came with the item. Simply does what it should.

In response to a previous review of this product , as far as I can see you don't need to remove the cover , just "plug in" the two pin plug into the base of the plug and you are done . Replaced a damaged plug on my wife's GHD's and are working fine so far. Saved me £110 for a new set ,

Im sorry to say this plug didnt fit any of my 2 pin plugs. The problem being the pin holders were too high up to connect and the casing not allowing the 2 pin plug to sit inside.
I tried monitor and computer leads shaving plugs and moisquito killers but nothing fitted.
A brilliant idea if only more universal.
What does it fit??

Many of the complaints of two pin plugs is how easily they fall out and disconnect. This is the perfect cure for that problem and saves space as well as inconvenience.

Well they say you get what you pay for. Unfortunately in this case you get even less.... it's cheap but it's also so badly made it doesn't function... absolute junk.

This adaptor does a good job of converting a two pin Europlug to a UK three pin one. The Europlug is gripped firmly by the adaptor and then held in place with two screws.

This system works well and is very secure in use. I have seen similar adaptors which just clip the Europlug in place but whilst being more versatile and easy to swap from one plug to another, they are less secure in use. One thing to take note of is that a standard Europlug fits fine to this unit but those with an integral power transformer, such as those often supplied with computer equipment, do not.

These units are slightly dearer than you might hope for but perhaps that is the price you pay for build quality and robustness.

I ordered the wrong thing but it was good quality
The screw to open the plug was nothing like I have ever seen before and didn't have a screw driver of that shape to open it. It wasn't a Philips or an ordinary totally different
