The idea of this bit of kit is to allow you to listen to the sound from the phone (MP3 output, radio etc) through in-ear phones rather than the cumbersome and over-large ear pieces supplied with the phone. The idea is perfectly good but unfortunately the headphones supplied with this item were faulty - no sound came through the left ear piece. After much fiddling the sound to the left ear would suddenly become audible, only to disappear again a few seconds later after the slightest movement of the wires to the headphones. However in my case the adapter section worked perfectly well and did enable me to plug in some different head phones pinched from another bit of equipment. I note that other users have reported poor quality construction of this product and potential buyers should be aware that they too might get a faulty item!

i think i have bought fakes. they look exactly the same (walkman sign all over).....except for the fakes dont have "sony ericsson hpm-70" on a little plastic label wrapped round the cord near the mic. they only have "hpm-70" on the label. they also sound half as good quality.....and on mine the mic is unuseable. go ahead and compare them in a shop. BUY ORIGINALS

These earphones are a great little buy - enabling you to fit your own earphones whilst retaining the Radio ariel. That said I ordered the LEB version & got the standard version. I ordered mine from ken2008 & whilst delivery was great & they were as cheap as chips he sent out the wrong ones. Amazon should try and pick up on this. Anyway - they are still a great product!!

I must warn all buyers of this item: This item is a lottery. I have ordered this handsfree three times now, with the following result:
Once it was really good quality, but broke after 6 months.
Once it was OK quality,
and now I just have received one that is definitely not "genuine" Sony Ericsson. The sound quality is so terrible that you might as well use the handsfree that came with the phone (trust me, it sounds better), the 3.5mm connection jack is not gold-plated, as with the originals, and the whole headset feels cheap and plasticky.

So, good luck with your order - I hope you get one of the good ones (the sound quality on the good ones is really really good.)

I bought these after I tried a friend's and was blown away by the quality. Normally with in-ear phones the sound quality is not perfect unless you press on the earpieces with your fingers - these give that sound quality all the time. And the ones that came with my k800i had a tendency to fall out of your ear, whereas these are much better designed and are firmly held in place.

They come in a plastic bag, but who cares? Another plus point is they come with an adaptor (with the Sony Ericsson Walkman logo on it) so you can use any headphones you like with them, and three different rubber pieces for different sized ears.

I ordered Friday and received on Wednesday and am very happy with the price - although the p&p was more expensive than it should be and is no doubt used to subsidise the low cost of the item - they're a genuine bargain. They matched the picture exactly. They don't seem any flimsier than other earphones - such as those that come with the iPod for instance.

The sound is of a very high quality and the bass is particularly impressive. They fit your ear so well little pieces of unnoticed background music in tracks you've heard many times suddenly come to the fore.

I bought these from ILuvLife and although they were packaged very well, it is immediately obvious that this product is not genuine and suffers because of it.

I could get little to no sound from the left ear bud, struggled to seperate the 3.5mm jack from the adapter, was not happy with the sound quality when it did work (sounded muffled), found that upon insertion they make some very odd creaky noises indicative of very poor build quality and when I finally tried to remove them from my phone the plug in bit fell apart (could be repaired mind you).

I would not wish these upon anyone, far better quality can be had for very similar prices. I am know buying what I hope to be genuine headphones from elsewhere.

Rant over.

well what more can i say these headphones are not only excellent for the amazingly cheap price there amazing in general i would buy them for a lot more than the super cheap price of £4.01 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

these are probably the best set of headphones i own they even block out sound when no music is playing and come with different sized pieces for different ears so they never fall out.

people who think these are fake are WRONG they are 100% authentic and i would recommend them to anyone.

and just to let everyone know they work for my k850i and my mates w850i and they also have a radio tuner in them so the radio application on your sony ericsson phone will be compatible with this headset.

This is now the third time I have had to buy these earphones due to the same recurring problem: the end of the adapter that plugs into the phone keeps developing a faulty connection, eventually resulting in the loss of one of the channels (more commonly the left). This happens gradually over time and is extremely annoying, not to mention a waste of time and money as each time I have to go and buy a new adapter & earphones.

In terms of sound quality this is a great product and it works well as a handsfree kit too, just don't expect it to last more than six months.

Poor build quality, as I have come to expect from Sony Ericsson and any other big brand companies that sell their production rights to the lowest bidder.

After breaking the set of headphones that came with my K800i I needed a replacement, and it seemed the only option was to buy the £60 wireless bluetooth ones from Argos. Im sure they would have been good, but I just needed something that you can listen to music through, nothing special. So I came on amazon and bought something from it the first time! I was amazed how quick it came! I ordered on the thursday evening and got it on saturday morning! Everything that I was told I was got was received. The only downside is the headphones are a bit tinny. But with the adaptor included you can use any set of headphones, so thats just a minor niggle.

I have very mixed feelings about this product. I wanted a replacement for the headset I got with my phone and with this I thought I'd found the answer. When I received this product I was unimpressed with what I had just paid for. The adapter is fine and does exactly what it says on the tin, you can use any standard headphones with the right sized jack and it works well.

The headphones were a joke, they looked second hand and the sound quality was similar to an old gramophone. If you want a cheap adapter then by all means buy this product and bin the headphones but please do not buy it for the headphones alone.
