4.0 out of 5 stars The Best Of MLS B-Sides and Rarities, 22 Feb 2007
This review is from: Megaphone Theology (B Sides And Rarities) (Audio CD)
Following the release of Sex & Violins - The Best Of My Life Story, and their comeback gigs at the Mean Fiddler and the Astoria in 2006, Jake Shillingford and the band released this fantastic 2 disc collection of b-sides and rarities from throughout their illustrious career. The first CD is my personal favourite with the likes of "Suited & Booted" and "There's Nothing For Nobody And Everybody Wants To Be Someone". There's also spanning the two disks, the "Emerald Green" collection - a unique songwriting project where the same lyrics are used time and again with different music to achieve different results, including "The Return Of Emerald Green", "Emerald Green Blah Blah Blah", "Paint It Emerald Green" and "Emerald Green Strikes Back". This collection is definately for the true MLS fan, and will probably not particular interest the casual listener, but if you want to complete your MLS collection then it really is a must-have. As a big MLS fan, I give it a definate 4 out of 5, both for the tunes and for the timing of its release! Now I look forward to the possibility that Jake may one day record another MLS album.
