When you like this funky music, then just buy the record. I am very pleased with this remastered edition, to replace the previous release. Both cd's including honey/contradiction sound just great.
It's a pitty that the original cover art was only printed as thumbnails. It would have been nice when the covers were printed in the booklet.

English is not my native language. Sorry I didn't pay much attention at school.

The Ohio Players first 2 albums for Mercury together on one release make this an essential purchase for Funk fans. Although I rate "Honey" as their best album, these 2 run it awfully close.

"Skin Tight"features epic Funk in the form of the title track and Streakin...", before we find the band returning to their vocal group roots with "It's your Night" and "Jive Turkey" hits a laid back Funk groove The Funk Ballad was always a feature of the Players repertoire, and "Heaven..." is one of their best, and there is a truly excellent Gospel infused close to the album with "Is Anybody Gonna be Saved".

The title track on "Fire" needs no introduction from me, the title track being one of their best known tracks, and there's more Funk/Rock on "Smoke and "Running from the Devil". Between each of these we find a Funk Ballad and "Together", "It's All Over" and "..Free" are some of the finest of that genre, each showcasing the vocal harmonies of the band.

If you are at all interested in Soul/Funk, then your collection is incomplete without these 2 albums
