This review is from: From These Wounds (Audio CD)
Blimey - this is depressing stuff. It is slow, each track is around 6-7 minutes and it will seriously snap you out of your good mood.

But it works & is completely brilliant! If you like low tone, heavy, almost goth-like riffs and monk-like chanting, this is the CD for you!!!

It's hard to pick any standout tracks, but here goes... 'This Barren Skin' is sorta Doom-anthemic if you know worra mean. 'From These Wounds' is despressingly excellent, 'The Architecture Of Loss' is wrist-slashingly heavy, the underlying riff for 'Red Moon' is great & surprisingly uplifting, almost Doom-anthemic! Like-wise 'Vagrant God'... love the heavy riffs.

'Pendulum' is dark & heavy. Very dark. Very heavy. I want to kill myself, but not until this track has finished. Probably the album's darkest track so far. Love the heavy riff though! And then you hit 'Saturn', which, if i had to put a colour to it, would be dark black. Typical of the album though, the riffs are heavy but brilliant and the monk-like vocals are mesmeric.

This is not an album for Poison fans. It is dark, heavy and, to be honest, depressing. But it is also fantastic.

But, deep down, it is also very uplifting. Earlier this year, when i was sick with depression (amongst other things), this album helped me through those tough times.

It is completely & utterly brilliant - please buy it!! Now where did i put that Prozac......
