5.0 out of 5 stars Musical Snobs
Looking at the two uninformed bad rewiews below, its people like that, that just can't see beyond their own taste.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but its pretty clear that the two people that reviewed this song are more slating Girls Aloud than the actual song itself.

1.0 out of 5 stars TALENTLESS RUBBISH
The orginal was a poor song, but at least it was original. This talentless bunch of airheads show their lack of talent, by covering such a huge hit. At least a talented group like the beatles always decided to cover obscure b-sides, and if they covered a famous song, it was never released as a single for a quick cash in.
This is a mere example of how the record...

I actually think this song is pretty bad. I didn't like the original and I don't like this version.

What I do want to say though is as "manufacted" as you want to call Girls Aloud, you can't deny the fact that they have been around for 5-6 years now and had more top 5 hits that any other girl group. ever. They have released 3 very successful albums and a No.1 massively selling Greatest Hits, and they are about to reslease their fourth studio album.

One thing they have is consistancy. No one has left the band and been replaced (which is common in girl pop groups, Sugababes, Spice Girls, Atomic Kitten) making them more identifiable, and they also release very consistent catchy pop tunes, which even people that hate Girls Aloud secretly like!

They have prooved them self to be a commercial and critical success. All of their albums were well rewvied by respected music mags like Q and bands such as Franz Ferdinand are even doing records with the band.
People need to just let go of the face that they came from a tv program!

They have, in fact only made around four covers out of sixteen singles, so the guy below that reviwed this needs to get his facts straight!

Okay so its their record company that produce the cathchy tunes (although they did write their latest single) but really who cares!
I love many bands and artists. Some pop, some indie, some rock, some dance... and I'm not ashamed to say that I like Girls Aloud.
I love music and I can't stand musical snobs that only see what they want to see and don't appreciate that some people might like or want some fun and happy escapism that you get from bands like Girls Aloud.

This in my opinion is one of their worst singles, but everyone likes at least one of their songs, even if you don't wanna admitt it!

Girls Aloud are like porn to some people. Everyone secretly likes it, but doesn't like to admitt it! Well get over it!

5.0 out of 5 stars One Of The Best UK Girl Bands, 1 Feb 2007
This review is from: I Think We're Alone Now [Cd2] (Audio CD)
To the reviewer below, Girls Aloud have actually been around for 5 years, not minutes, and they had released 3 HUGELY successful Albums before they released their Greatest Hits compilation, so don't be too hasty to rule them out completely just because you think they are a completely "manufactured" and or talentless.

Now on to the song. This song, in my opinion, is 100X better than the original and doesn't sound "dated" at all. It has everything you would want in a great pop song, great beats and music, great vocals, and great production to pull it all together. And I'm obviously not the only one who thinks so, seeing as it was #4 on the charts, during all important Christmas Week. And if you buy this version of the single you get the very well done remixes, and the awesome music video, which features the girls in a James Bond-ish style casino, not really pertaining to the song, but a good video none-the-less. All-in-all, this song is not THE best from the girls, but it's definitely up there with the rest of them, don't hesistate to buy this, its definitely worth your [...] :)

This is a mere example of how the record industry profits in this capitalist society by having talentless fools parading around singing nonsense, while they milk the profits. And the record buying public go on buying this tosh and actually think this is goo music. What a joke.

1.0 out of 5 stars Another Outdated Worthless Cover, 5 Jan 2007

This review is from: I Think We're Alone Now [Cd2] (Audio CD)
How sad am I to be even writing a review of this worthless piece of rubbish. It is my daughter who owns the CD as I for one would not consider buying a CD from a manufactured band yet alone one that has no talent. Take away the shameful image the industry tries to push on screen so much and listen carefully and they version sounds even more dated than the original, it grinds on and on. I gave this version 1 star and that is only because there is no lower option.

It sounds simply awful and will only appeal to the girls aloud purist.

Given that the band (if you can call them that) has been on the scene for all of five minutes and yet claim to a best hits CD it would seem impressive, that is until you realise most of their tracks are covers???
