The adaptor is fine and does what it is supposed to do.

The problem is the photo is very misleading. It shows the adaptor with its back open as if to receive the 2-pin plug. Actually this type of adaptor does not open. "The picture is for illustrative purpose only showing how the plug sits in the adaptor".

So just push the plug into the hole until it clicks in place - don't try to open the back as shown in the photo - that doesn't work!

I bought a couple of these to use with various equipment.
1 bought My Wii console in France. This is ideal to adapt the 2 pin euro plug supplied with Wii console (transformer) so it can be plugged into a UK socket.
YOU DONT have to cut original plug off lead so manufacturers warranty is not invalidated in anyway. You simply open up converter and snap Euro(in my case French) plug into it, and close it up.
Does what it says. Simple to use.

Bought both black & white adaptors to enable our friends to use their laptop/phone charger whilst visiting the UK. Laptop/phone Europlugs just would not fit into the white adaptors and you could not open the white adaptors as shown in photograph as the white adaptors are sealed.

Sought advice from Standish Trading who exchanged the white adaptors for black adaptors that do open enabling the Europlug to be easily inserted and the top secured by a screw. Job done.

This product works great as it fully converts two-pin electrical leads to three-pin. It improves greatly on the old adapters that can take up so much room.

So simple and so easy to use and so useful. As I often buy items in Germany which come with moulded plugs these converters are a godsend.

I bought these adaptors because I now have a number of electrical items bought in Spain (laptop, mobile etc.) which needed recharging. The blurb indicated that they would be suitable for all european items, but they are certainly no use with the current style of Spanish 2-pin plugs. They would be OK for anything that has the old-style plugs, i.e.NOT the elongated diamond shape.

I received this item for an electric drum kit I bought from Germany. When it arrived, I was annoyed to see the German plug, a fairly standard plug with a transformer attached, would not fit this adaptor.

I'm sure standard EU plugs would fit this fine, but if the plug you're looking to convert is not a simple plug and has a transformer attached/inbuilt, be sure to look for another product unless you feel comfortable cutting away the casing of this adaptor to make it fit properly!

Does exactly what it says. Converts a 2 pin Euro style plug to a UK BS 3 pin jobbie. Fast delivery from vendor too.

I purchased this item from Standish Trading so that a 2 pin moulded Euro plug fitted to a Bosch cordless drill battery charger bought in France could be used in the UK. Having read the reviews, there were mixed comments about fitting, but bought some anyway. Although I ordered 3 plugs, only 2 were delivered - that is a separate issue. However, I needed the ability to use the battery charger in both France and UK so needed a reversible solution.

I fitted the 2 pin moulded plug into the adapter and clicked it into place - this provided a permanent non-reversible conversion. I contacted Power Connections about this issue and Alan Tadd, their Managing Director advised me that the white converter plug is a type FCP which is a one use convert and cannot be removed without breaking it. He recommended a Black type ECP converter plug which has a hinged lid and fixing screw. The Power Connections converter plugs are very good quality and conform to BS 5733 - Licence KM23223 so are fully tested products. See manufacturers website [...] for details.

The product description for the white 2 pin to 3 pin converter plug needs to be made clearer about the end use - it is suitable for a permanent conversion but if a reversible conversion is needed, then the Black FCP type is recommended. Both types are available from Standish Trading on the Amazon Storefront.

Having fitted one plug permanently, I returned the other back to the Seller for a replacement - I had to bear the cost of postage (same price as a plug) but did receive the alternative Black type ECP with a hinged lid and fixing screw. The fitted white converter had to be destroyed to permit removal of the moulded 2 pin plug.

The Black type ECP converter plug is very good quality and is fit for my purpose, so this is highly recommended and provides a reversible conversion and gets 5*'s. The white converter is also good quality but the product description needs to be made clearer about the permanent conversion - good product but did not suit my requirements.
