Would be five stars if it had the cleaning rod and finger chart as described.

Otherwise, as you'd expect with the Yamaha name, well made and great value.

My 8 year old's recorder teacher said she needed to replace her recorder with a yamaha, I was sceptical but it really does sound better. Also is a great funky colour. Very good value for money.

I bought this recorder for my 11 year old son and he loves it! It is quite different looking from all the usual black ones and he says it plays much better! It comes in a clear plastic case which is great and arrived very quickly.

I don't think I can write too much about a recorder. I'm 19 years of age and was bored, and thought I'd learn. I'd say it's a kid's instrument but I may be being ignorant. I learnt all the songs from a little book in a half hour or so.

The recorder is great... but I wish I hadn't got a see-through one. Sorry to be disgusting but you see all the spit inside it. And I did try and control that aspect of my playing.

This is a hardy little instrument it should not be bough under the impression it is in any way different from a common recorder, it's blue and that may be different from the common plastic recorder. For children the funky colour and look might impress them and it is a good instrument to start your child learning as it is so easy to take up. All in all a good buy!

Great for the price though should have bought a solid colour (this one's see-through) as my son's dribble can be seen running down the inside - yuck!

Great value and so easy to maintain - stick in the dishwasher - no saliva swollen wooden ones!

Bought this recorder for my primary school daughter. She loves the bright, unusual colour, I loved the price and somehow she sounds less squeaky on it than on the school recorders - or perhaps she's improving!

My daughter brought home a recorder from school which lots of children before her had played. As she seems really keen to learn the recorder I decided to buy her a nice (clean!) new one of her own. This suited her perfectly as it's the same brand as the school one & in her favourite colour. It is see through though so you can see all the moisture building up, not like on the normal brown ones, but she doesn't seem to mind! The delivery was really fast too, it came the next day. All in all I was very pleased with this product.

I ordered this for our 3 year old, more as a toy than an instrument, there were a number to choose from, but due to our reason for buying one we looked at the cheaper ones, the price made me think it would not be very good quality, I was totally wrong !
It is beautifully made, strong and easy to dismantle and clean.
Excellent value for money and our 3 year old adores it, though she has a long way to go to get a recognisable tune out of it :o)
Highly recommended.
