I bought this watch about six months ago on Amazon. I was originally after a more expensive and posh version of G-shock but these were discounted to just 45 quid so I couldn't resist!

I first thought these would be cheaper made in comparison to other G-shocks but boy was I mistaken here. The watch is a piece of rugged artwork, very well constructed and easy to use. You will only need to read the manual once to be able to make time/alarm adjustments and use stopwatch and world time. Speaking of which, the world time is a fantastic feature with one BIG reservation - you must keep in mind that alarms can only be set for the watch's local time and if you want the thing to wake you up for a flight somewhere other than at home you will have to set the alarm on domestic time factoring in the time shift or you will have to set the watch to local time where you are. I find this feature annoying.

Do not be put off G-shock by their design, this is a watch in its own class, it MUST have oversized resin bezel, it MUST have red buttons and look like a Godzilla, you'll see what I mean when you buy it. It will look fantastic when you're off for an off-road trip or when you wear them in the office. I work in the City so I know this;)

Some people complain about stiff buttons. True, the buttons are somewhat difficult to operate, this also depends on ambient temperature as it affects stiffness of the rubber compound they're made of but don't forget that those rubber buttons are there to keep abrasive particles off the watch. Besides, if you can't operate these buttons you don't need a G-shock, believe me.

Overall, a very good watch. Would I buy a solar-powered/RC version of these? Maybe, but changing battery in the watch that cost me 45 quid isn't something that may even happen as in 3 years (stated battery life) I might wanna go for something new... definitely another G-shock;)

I have had the watch for just a couple of weeks
and find it an excellent product BUT as has been
said by other reviewer's. The control buttons are
incredibly stiff, and being elderly and arthritic
I find that it is virtualy impossible for me to use
the stop watch facility.I feel that this point should
be made clear in the adverts. All in all a fine piece
of kit, and excellent value I particularly like the
backlight feature. Fix the problem the buttons and
you will have a real winner!.

I have three G-Shocks, as well as numerous other watches. Construction is typical G-Shock, in that it is pretty much guaranteed to withstand the rigours of daily life, let alone a few excursions 'off-road'.

Lots of functionality, alarms, stopwatch, countdown timers, as well as world time. Not solar powered, so you can expect to have a new battery fitted every two years, or sooner, if you make use of the auto-illumination function to impress your partner at night.

The watch is comfortable to wear, light, and with a good quality resin strap. As with most digital watches of this type, the display contents are all about presentation, with lots of small items to squint at. However, the time and date components are easily read under most conditions, and, of course, there is the illuminator to play with at night, which is very pretty, but probably a major battery depletion factor. Oh, and the alarm works OK, as one might expect.

Because this model is being marketted as being a little bit more rugged than usual, the buttons are even more resistant to the incursion of dust, dirt and water than usual. Still 200m water resistance, but it is worth knowing that those buttons are very stiff on this model. If your needs include a lot of accurate stopwatch type mseasurements, then the stiffness of the buttons will not help in any way.

Bottom line; If you like rugged, can cope with the colour and stiffness of the buttons, and are prepared to feed the watch new batteries periodically, then this is a great novelty watch. Just don't wear it to interviews in the city!

THE CHUCK NORRIS OF THE WATCH WORLD!

I'm a gardener and a forestry worker, I've owned this watch for two years wearing it everyday ALL DAY! This watch still looks brand new, I've done planting, digging, demolition work, working in lakes / ponds. carrying and felling large tree's all day EVERYDAY! I believe i was born to test this watch.

* The watch is extremely comfortable , slightly raised off your wrist by little nodules of plastic, does not interfere with skin. e.g rashes or soreness

* Its absolutely freaking unbreakable, I've smacked this thing across brick walls so many times. Why? mainly because I'm an IDIOT. But who cares because this watch has no battle wounds!

* MUD and WATER proof, ive worn this watch while working in soil within a large polytunnel, the soil had basically become extremely dry and had crept into every part of the watch, I dunked it into a stinking old water barrel And guess what IT LIVES!!

* Alot of people complain about the stiff buttons, Which are actually designed so you can use gloves aswell thats why there so big, But if you are'nt the sort of person who can push these buttons in, then this watch isnt for you, This is a mans watch. SO MAN UP !!!

* The Functions are great , The alarm wakes me up every morning, And thank god for the snooze function, The light is really bright, The whole presentation is great, the watch is not MASSIVE like other Casio models .

* The mudman has small screws instead of those pathetic little pins that always snap on normal watches, A two pronged buckle , again unlike those mortal watches.

* The price is great, at first i was cautious of paying so much for a watch, But this watch will last a lifetime, i would easily pay more for this watch then i did. BUY THIS WATCH !!!!!!!!

An excellent buy. I got it about 5ish years back after the strap on my previous watch broke. This watch is brilliant! 5 alarms, date, 24/12 hour time, snooze, shock water resistant 200m and mud proof, as well as world time, this watch is perfect, especially as the strap can be replaced . The only downside is that the buttons can be stiff. The timer on it goes up to 24 hours. So if you want something durable and practical buy this!

The watch was bought for my husbands birthday, he had checked it out on site prior to buying and found it had more than was described and is very pleased with it, easy to set up time and date and due to the world time settings only has to push a button for a particular destination instead of fiddling with loads of the buttons to reset, chunky and robust as the Mudman should be. A good buy

Bought this because I needed a rugged watch,it's nice and large and looks great but that's all it is and functions just like any other
casio with no other thrills. But the price is fair. The delivery was extremely slow!

This is a great looking watch, not too big and chunky. I wanted it purly for the way it looks, not really used all the stop watch bits and alarms. Just wanted something that looks good on my wrist and I don't have to worry if it gets bashed about a bit. Should think i'll get a good few years wear out of it.

This is my third G Shock, and I love it!!! Although little bit smaller than my GA-100 and G-7900 series, it looks amazing and fits my rather large wrist perfectly. Cool combination of black and red colours is great! Buttons are a bit stiff but not to the extent of being unusable, but hey ho it's a Mudman so this is how it should be. Back light illumination is superb with whole face of the watch being lighted instead of main time screen. Overall great watch and a happy me! Recommend to all g shock fans especially for current price, it's a bargain!!!
