Im writing this review because I think there are a lot of English cricket fans who will buy this dvd if they realise what the contents are. Expectations may be low but in actual fact the quality of the archive footage make this a fantastic product.

The package contains two discs. Disc one is Border and Botham going through Ashes series from 1970-71 up to 2005. The chats they have are a bit stilted and stagey at times but what comes through is the geniune respect and affection the guys have for each other and how much Ashes cricket means to them. Throughout the chats there is archive footage from all the series including some footage from Channel Nine in Australia that I had never seen before.

But it is disc two that really does the business for my money. The dvd shows highlights of specific days in Ashes history some of which people in England will not have seen since originally transmitted because the rights are with Channel Nine.

Here is the list of higlights;

Melbourne 82-83 Day 5. One of the greatest test matches and test finishes of all time. On the last day Australia require 37 runs to win and England need just one wicket. (It gave me goosebumps watching this again!)

Brisbane 1986 Days 2 and 5 Critical moments from Englands opening victory in series 86-87 the last time we won in Australia. Some of this footage was released on vhs at the time but there is additional footage cos its the full days highlights.

Melbourne 1986 Days 1, 2 and 3 All the highlights from the game that clinched the Ashes for Mike Gattings team.

Adelaide 1995 Day 5 The last time we won in Adelaide and a dead rubber but a great victory.

Melbourne 1998 Day 4 Again a dead rubber but an absolute thriller of a final day as Australia chase a small total for victory. Dean Headley and Darren Gough come to the fore. (Incidentally, Goughs hat trick from this series is also on disc one.)

To sum up, so often I buy dvds and they show the same incidents and games that Ive have seen 100s of times over. This dvd is so much better than that. It is in my opinion, a fantastic purchase.

Having today watched the 1st disc of this 2 disc set i have to say what an excellent and enjoyable watch is was.....
Botham & Border wander around lords talking about all the ashes matches since 1970, all the heroes and villains are there, the 3 hours just wizzed by with all the talk, memories and clips.
Can't wait to watch the second disc, i marvelled at Beefy when he played and enjoy his views now he is a pundit.
Buy this set and you will not be disappointed, great stuff.......
Cheers Steve.......

With over 6 hours over 2 DVDs, there is plenty to keep you happy here. As other reviews have stated, the coversations between Beefy and AB are at times a little clunky, but apart from that, you're getting some brilliant footage, a lot of which younger fans may never have seen before. Great stuff.

Border is such a diffident guy some of the conversations between him and Botham are a bit uncomfortable but the footage is great and for this price ...
