I don't consider myself an artist or an experienced programmer but I have created over 200 educational applications, games, screen savers and utility programs with this and other programs made by Clickteam. It's so easy to use and once you are familiar with the way it works, you can produce programs in hours that would take weeks to code. There is no coding/programming involved, just drag and drop and then deciding what actions you want to happen. The only obstacle is your imagination. Clickteam have an excellent forum where you can get real help. The graphics and sounds supplied are of very high quality. The icing on the cake is that with Clickteam's new swf exporter add on, you can now export your games made with this software into Flash games ready to add to the web. They even include a simple way to monetize your games by adding advertising from a hugely popular games advertising agency.

Now you can produce online Flash games at a tiny fraction of the cost of buying and learning Flash itself.

More of an upgrade than a sequel.

Although they have not changed much from the original Game Factory the changes they have made are absolute vital. For example being able to have unlimited animations for one object being the most useful in my opinion. But this still has a lot of the same flaws as the original. Platform movement is still awful and you will end up having to create your own engine if you want your games to be taken seriously. Also most of the animations and backdrops that you get free are the same as TGF1 so they did not even bother to change that. I was expecting so much more from this product which I have been waiting well over 10 years for. However that's not to say it's not any good because despite its flaws it's still an awesome and more importantly fun bit of software to have. The programming is not as easy as it makes out but it's still a lot easier to get your head around than coding.

To summarize it's hard to say whether this is worth buying. For anyone who has never used the original Games Factory I would suggest you download that for free first because its almost identical to the untrained eye but if your like me and you are a prolific game maker wannabe who preferred The Games Factory 1 over Multimedia Fusion and other game creating software out there you just have to have it.
