Having owned a number of different torches of this type I am impressed with the build quality and materials used. The LED is incredibly bright and focusing from flood to spot is made easy, due to the textured focus ring which gives good grip even when your hands are cold and wet.

Great product and at less than £25.00 you can't beat it.

Other reviews said it was also good for clonking an assailant, now I know what they mean.
Solid, weighty and nice and bright.

I first looked at maglites after seeing them on TV back in the early 80's and desperately wanted one. At the time I bought mine I was about 15 and used it on various camping trips and it was excellent.
A few years later I joined up and used my maglite on deployments and every day work on my unit (even used it as a hammer when one was not to hand, not the wisest move but I was young).

It is now over twenty years since I bought it and it is only on its second bulb (the spare that came with it) and continues to light my way when out walking my dog at night. I am now getting the LED conversion for it.

It has a few scrathes and scrapes but it has continued to work fantastically well despite the poor treatment it received early on.

If you want a bright but not too bright torch this is great it may not be a million candle power or hundreds of lumens but it is bright. We live out in the sticks with no street lamps and it is bright enough.

Mine cost around fifty pounds back in the eighties and is worth every penny and the wait(took me well over a year to save my pocket money). With the standard bulb back then it was advertised as 30,000 candlepower not sure if that is accurate but it is bright enough.

It is exceptional value.

It seems a lot of money for a torch, but with the LED Maglite, you get what you pay for.

A sturdy piece of kit which gives excellent illumination and is reliable.

The LED bulb gives amazing luminance and long battery life.

Highly recommended.

The torch is excellent,this is the second one I've bought, the first one gave out because I neglected to keep an eye on the batteries and they corroded and jammed inside, ruining the torch. This new torch is fitted with the better LED bulb, but my one niggle is that the fitted "spare" bulb is only the original filament type. not LED.

This was bought as a gift so I can't recommend it personally, however it's working well and he is very pleased with it, so all good!

It has been in my possesion for over a year now and is reguarly used in the winter times. Still running on the same set of Duracell Batteries. The focused light is very bright and WHITE. One issue is the wide beam light leaves a black hole in centre. I have dropped this torch downstairs and on the pavement without it breaking. It can pick out people in total darkness from over 100m. Works fine in heavy rain too.

Robust construction with variable focus and a strong beam makes this a great torch. Would highly recommend. Consistent with high expectations you'd have of Maglite.

I have been a fan of Maglite torches for many years, but held back on buying the LED version because I just knew it couldn't perform as well as the normal bulb version. How wrong was I? This is an excellent product, MUCH brighter than the old version, but is the same in every other respect (sturdy, nice and heavy etc.). I will now replace my other 2-3 Maglites with this version.

I BOUGHT THIS TORCH BECAUSE I LOST MY OTHER - WHEN I RECEIVED IT I FOUND THE LOST TORCH BUT THEN FHAAAA - I NOW KEEP ONE AT THE TOP OF THE STAIRS AND ONE AT THE BOTTOM TO BLIND ANY NIGHT TIME BURGLARS BEFORE RENDERING THEM UNCONSCIOUS WITH WHICH EVER END OF THE TORCH MANAGES TO BREAK THEIR SKULL.
