4.0 out of 5 stars Great episodes now in colour, 30 Nov 2010

This review is from: Please Sir - Series 2 [DVD] (DVD)
After the black and white first series we now have 13 colour episodes (which means we see the lovely Sharon and Maureen in colour). The best episode is Common Law where Sharon was nearly attacked on the common and Hedges walks her home, which annoys Maureen. The boys all agree to hide in the trees to duff up anyone who attacks her. This episode is very good as it shows the protective nature of Hodges and the class.
The scenes with the teachers in the staff room, although well acted, are not as funny as the moments in class or with the caretaker Potter.

This was made when ITV a) still made sitcoms, b) made GOOD sitcoms, and c) had sitcoms with a memorable theme tune. How times have changed!

Along with After Henry and Rising Damp this is one of the finest ITV sitcoms. Sadly Dennis, Maureen and Craven are no longer with us.
