5.0 out of 5 stars The Great Battle Of Our Time Set To Music...
If you are a fan of any of the following: Metallica's epic S&M masterpiece, Nightwish, Dimmu Borgir, Therion(THE symphonic metal band)Apocalyptica and Emperor, and also enjoy the likes of Holst(The Planets Suite), Mussorgsky(Night On The Bare Mountain)and Wagner, and have been enthralled by awesome scores to the likes of Conan The Barbarian, Gladiator, Revenge Of The Sith...

1.0 out of 5 stars MIDI?
Big fan of Orchestral Music (Beethoven, Mozart, Vivaldi, etc)

Big fan of Metal Music (Metallica, Slayer, Dimmu Borgir, Anorexia Nervosa, Rammstein, Opeth, etc)

Having listened to a pretty sweet version of Orion by Rodrigo y Grabriela I thought It'd be cool to see if there were any orchestral albums out of their albums.

Stumbled acrossed...

If you are a fan of any of the following: Metallica's epic S&M masterpiece, Nightwish, Dimmu Borgir, Therion(THE symphonic metal band)Apocalyptica and Emperor, and also enjoy the likes of Holst(The Planets Suite), Mussorgsky(Night On The Bare Mountain)and Wagner, and have been enthralled by awesome scores to the likes of Conan The Barbarian, Gladiator, Revenge Of The Sith and The Return Of The King then this full orchestral adaptation of Metallica's classic 1986 Master Of Puppets release will Shock and Awe!! Remember the tracks glaringly omitted from 1999's aforementioned S&M?? - You'll find them here in full symphonic force - MINUS electric guitar/bass, vocals and standard drums, and at least equal in arrangement to Michael Kamen's (RIP)interpretations from S&M. Highlights are the ferocious Battery, the epic Master Of Puppets, the melancholy Orion and the darkness of The Thing That Should Not Be. Bottom Line: An essential for all Metallica devotees with an open mind and all Symphonic Metal lovers and those with a taste for the harder side of orchestral music.
Just remember that there are NO guitars etc on here, just the orchestra!

I can't sum up these tracks any better than to say that they are all a simply perfect, shall we say conversion from one of the greatest ever thrash metal albums into a beautiful orchestral score... If you like Metallica, and you like the symphony sound then this is a must have. What a rare gem.

Having listened to a pretty sweet version of Orion by Rodrigo y Grabriela I thought It'd be cool to see if there were any orchestral albums out of their albums.

Stumbled acrossed this and most displeased.

It sounds to me like someone's downloaded a MIDI file of the songs, copied them into Cubase or Logic, and put better samples for the instruments (despite the samples still aren't great) Not worth the money. Vocal lines sound very fake and annoying. There's no variation like a real orchestra. Everything sounds extremely in static and doesn't vary in dynamics.

To be frank, I'm really disappointed with this and don't recommend it to anyone.

*is plotting to now make his own real version, better than this!*
