VERY VERY disappointing. If I could have selected 0 stars I would have done! My views reflect the majority of those below.... ie. you cannot choose a letter it selects for you and not even logically... the questions are constantly repeated... it is slow and dull. We played it once and I am inclined to bin it already as this game only serves to put you to sleep - I have had more fun watching paint dry!

It has been thrown together with the aim of making a fast buck which is annoying to say the least. I have played other interactive dvd games therefore I am aware that it is possible to make them faster and enjoyable to play. All in all this is an insult to Bob Holness!

IF YOU GO AHEAD AND BUY THIS GAME EXPECT TO BE DISAPPOINTED!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Good concept, but flawed as you can't choose your own letter. It claims to have over 1,000 questions, but in 2 games there were alot of repeated questions which made the game useless. In Bob's own words, they are "Taking the P". Refund material. Our New Year guests were soon back on the Bop It!

Remember thinking "Can I have a 'P' Bob?" was funny. Well it still is...

What isn't funny, is the fact that people end up paying money to find out just how poor this game is. What is it with these DVD games anyway!?

Questions that repeat to often.. Okay, so there's a thousand (allegedly) but can't they do something to ensure that repetition is kept to a minimum. My Spectrum version was better than this!

You can't choose where you want to go. What!?! Isn't that half the point... I swea, if people knew in advance what they were buying, they'd have left it on the shelf. There's very basic online versions of Blockbusters that have been around for years that do a better job, and we've just found another version that also features Bob Holness as well (The only good thing about this DVD Game.

Do yourself a favour and search for "Blockbusters broadband."

I loved Blockbusters in the 80s and think Bob was ahead of his time but this DVD game was such a poor representation of that cult show I couldn't have believed it.

I wish I'd saved my money and played the free online version at [...] The makers of this version got it down to a tee! Still playing it online, and never have had a question repeat once, unlike the DVD! I now and plan to sell my DVD game as soon as I can.

Bought this as The 'Christmas Family' game - I shouldn't have bothered. If you're thinking of buying this........... don't! It's too slow, you can't pick your own letters, and the same questions come up repeatedly. I am so disappointed and hope I can take this back and get a refund.

Although the format of the game isn't the same as the TV show in that you can't select the letter you want and block other players, it is still fun. I found there were two problems which decreased the enjoyment, Firstly. it is so very slow, and secondly in three games there were far too many repeated questions. OK but could be a lot better.

I use to love blockbusters when i was younger and 'Uncle Bob' was always a pleasure to watch. Now here is the interactive version and its ... well... not bad.

The music is there, Bobs voice is there and general gameplay is there. Again you play as white or blue but you dont get to pick which letters you want, which is a real shame, however i presume it makes it fairer for 2 players as it evens out the chances of the white player playing vertically. Then again they could have just made the playing area square to even it out?

The main drawback with this game is the speed. Its dead slow! I appreciate that the dvd format is not the quickest but compared to some others, strike it lucky in particular, it just grinds. You really do start to lose interest in waiting and people begin to talk amongst themselves during the constant waits between each question.

Having said that, still good fun, and if you can put up with the slow times its really not bad.

Very disappointed with this version of Blockbusters - if there's over 1000 questions I'll eat the DVD!! At least 10-12 questions were repeated in two games, it's very slow, the grahics are basic and you can't even pick your own box or try to block your opponents. It's tedious in the extreme and some of the questions wouldn't tax a primary school kid. It's so not worth the money.

Another rubbish DVD game that's far to slow to be any fun. You get to hear original presenter Bob Holness but that's the only thing in it's favour. Incidently Holness fans, Bob was the first man in history to play James Bond (twas on a radio drama) and I once saw him at Pinner station which is where he lives. Er, the town of Pinner that is, not the Under Ground station.
In conclusion, the mighty Block Busters franchise is ill serviced by this piece of tat.
Stick with board games and just use your DVD player to watch films, you'll have a lot more family fun.

We are going to send this back if we can. You can't choose the letter you want from the board - isn't the whole point of Blockbusters that you can 'block' the other team's passage across the screen?! Also in the original TV program if you get a question right you keep going until you get one wrong - with this game you just take it in turns - boring! Also the whole thing does not work in DVD format - it's just too slow. Don't buy it!
