4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent recording but songs may not suit everybody
The recording of this album is really excellent and is one of the best recordings I have. The songs are a bit slow and dull and might not suit the taste of everybody. But this SACD is a good showcase for your hifi system.

One potential reason for buying this disc is to convince yourself that a multichannel system is unnecessary. I usually prefer multichannel over two-channel stereo, but at least one track on this disc (Cielito Lindo) has a much more spatially cohesive presentation in the two-channel version compared to its 5-channel version.

If you are looking for problems in the 150-300 Hz range of your system or listening room, "Spanish Harlem" will shine a spotlight on all of them...

First 4 tracks should be in every music lovers collection, especially 'Isn't she lovelly' by Livingston Talyor - just listen to the whistled notes just 'float' out of your speakers (especially if you've got a well setup hifi). I lost interest a bit after track 5 though.
