5.0 out of 5 stars Concorde Professional, 24 April 2010
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars

This is the most highly detailed expansion pack I have bought for my flight sim! Incredible. You can chose to fly in the Captain or First officer seat + switch to engineer view. Although don't expect an easy flight, you LITERALLY need a degree to fly the thing and so it's a good job it comes with a hard copy of the flight manual and check lists (very good indeed). The afterburner effects are good. I would recomend buying, it's very good trust me.

First class product, I have purchased other Concorde programs and have been disappointed. But this one is first class and will take many, many months to get to grips with. I am already a competent pilot with small prop planes. But this one is a whole new ballgame.

Getting this fellow on the ground in one piece in strong adverse conditions is a challenge.
Nice comprehensive book and DVD to go with it as well.
All good.

This is an exceptionaly good flight simulation, but requires a lot of reading and practice before you have a chance of flying the aircraft - unless I overlooked something! Anyone looking for a quick flight should avoid this one, but if you stick with it, you should find it a very worthwhile experience.

This is a great add-on for FS2004 fans.

For all of those who miss seeing Concorde flying (what a shame that even the refitted aircraft were taken out of service, when there was no need), this product helps, in a small way, to keep the legend alive for flight sim fans.

There are various versions of the aircraft to sample and one needs to keep 'current' as, believe me, if one's skills are allowed to 'perish' then flying this aircraft is a real challenge - even after having this add-on for a while, it still challenges me and I am still learning!

The only couple of issues that I have encountered is that in MSFS2004 (vista) I dont seem to be able to call up the maps or GPS (satnav) in the same way/as with other aircraft within FS2004, and on ATC call up/chatter certain phrases (from ATC to pilot) seem not to work - ie those that relate to 'speedbird' or the aircraft registration etc. (even though one has adjusted the settings for such), these issues do not detract from the over all fun and standard of this great add-on.

Flying Concorde can be done by the 'seat of the pants' - ie taking a flight from, the soon to be closed, 'Filton', to 'Fairford', one just has enough runway at Filton, for rotation, if full thrust with after burners are used! - or on longer haul flights with all of the whistles and bells being used, so something for everyone.

When 'seat of the pants flying', landing Concorde, is a real challenge, in terms of glide slope and nose/wing elevation etc. - remember how they looked when landing at Heathrow et al? Approach - on 'Finals' - at 180 knts seems about right, yet it takes a steady hand and balance between the stall and an overshoot/go around.

Lots of fun!

5.0 out of 5 stars World's best Concorde, 4 Mar 2007

This Concorde has a GPS and much more detail than the other Concorde add on. There are two different aircraft models one without Virtual Cockpit and one with. This add on has a DVD included. The other add on is difficult to land but this add on is more real but it is easier.
