This is typical Bola. Really relaxing music. This album is quite old school bola in fact (it says in the sleeve recorded in 1996) and I remember him mentioning it a few months ago. Any fans of his first released album Soup will really enjoy this album. It has great depth, and texture/timbre and is well worth buying

If you like BOLA at all you'll buy this album for two reasons. One, because it contains one of the very best tracks he's ever made - FAINT - previously only released on the very obscure A MURDER IN THE COMPANY OF VESPERTINE compilation in the mid 1990's. And two, because of the superb and untitled 'Track 9' - recorded, I have it on good authority, to Hi-Fi Stereo VHS tape in 1993. Now re-mastered and sounding absolutely fantastic, it was never previously released as part of the original SHAPES ep's.
The original SHAPES tracks do reveal a little of their age, but I just can't understand to this day why Darrell Fitton's talents have been so overlooked for so long. Is he simply unlucky or massively ahead of his time? Either way there's no justice. A true original and pioneer, he deserves so much more.
