What a powerful and emotional cd.From the lovely opening of Sailing, to the power of land of my fathers, this is a cd that tears at all the emotions and has the hairs standing up on the back of your neck.The choir sound excellent, and the accompanying orchestra just makes it such an enjoyable listening experience.

Trully uplifting!!!

The Welsh nation really do know how to sing. This is a fantastic CD with some of the most wonderful songs. The fresh interpretations are up lifting and inspiring. This is a must buy!

They prove that human voice is the best instrument given to us. Nothing fancy here, just voices with passion. They sing what it means to them. My tears just came out for no reason as I was just listening to the samples the very first time. It really touched the deepest part of my heart.

The combination of this arrangement along with the strong, rich male voices makes "Sailing" one the world's great choral masterpieces in my opinion. Most music only reaches our ears; this pieces reaches our hearts.

This is art. Although it seems magical it almost transcends explanation and lifts the spirit of mankind out of itself for just a moment in time.

"Sailing" reaches us most deeply at the very point when the arrangement modulates and allows the full harmony of these voices to soar. When this takes place in the CD it makes the hair stand out on the back of your neck. My eyes teared up and I knew that my deepest self had been touched.

The Fron couldn't have done better on their 1st CD - the opening track Sailing is a fabulous arrangement. If you haven't bought any of the Fron's CDs, then this is the one to get.

I was disappointed with this CD. It felt all very studio-managed. Yes, the songs are nicely sung; but there seemed to be no great emotion or force to the singing. I also I agree with one of the other reviewers that the accompaniment was too pronounced. For a male voice choir you want some power and energy. This might have set the hairs rising on the back of a small dog, but not me. Maybe in the 21st century it has to be sufficiently bland to appeal to a wide audience in different countries.

I heard this choir on Classic FM and decided that I had to get a copy of the album.

There is a good mixture of tracks; some traditional Welsh songs with more up to date interpretations of really well known tunes. The choir do an excellent job of each track and there are some really great harmonies to bring the music to life. Backed up by instruments that don't overwhelm the clarity of the voices, this is an album that really shows the power and beauty of the voice.

This is one that will be on the top of the play list for quite a while.

i have bought all their albums i love the sound of the welsh male voice choirs because i worked in wales every time i hear music like this i always think of the welsh hills great to hear through headphones

Pleasant clear intelligible singing, to music that is easy to listen to. Hence I purchased the whole set for a concert of music and song after hearing one of the songs on the radio. Managed to find the whole set of discs on Amazon after a short search.
