4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting debut; worth a look..., 16 April 2006
This review is from: Emr [DVD] (DVD)
an interesting debut for British directors James Erskine & Danny McCullough. Made on a shoestring, the film is nevertheless technically accomplished. Acting is on the whole impressive, though let down by a few weak performances. The story follows Adam (Adam Leese in his debut): a geek caught up in a web of conspiracies. However as the plot unravels in a confusing and round-about way, the audience starts to realise - even if Adam doesn't - that the reality of his situation is actually worse than his paranoid ravings. One gets the feeling that this was a film made under 'indy' circumstances and could have benefited from a bit more preparation time and money. Nonetheless, for a small indy film, it punches above its weight and certainly leaves one hungry for more. Well worth a look, particulary for anyone interested in the DIY film ethic. Roger Corman's spirit lives on...
