5.0 out of 5 stars The eaten alive cannibal doc is worth alone all the money, 10 Dec. 2014

(REAL NAME)
This is one of those absurb italian zombie - cannibal efforts of the 70s-80s era and belong in this small sub genre cannibal horror section from which we got great flicks from theodato, lenzi, mattei., fulci...etc....
This particular film is not one of the best of this genre but it's watchable and most important this version has for the first time the documentairry EATEN ALIVE which is about the best italian cannibal films and is worth for this doc all the money.
U will get to know about great films of the genre like CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST, JUNGLE HOLOCAUST, CANNIBAL FEROX, EATEN ALIVE and the movie which started the genre MAN FROM DEEP RIVER 1972.
So even if u have the dvd u should get this blu if u are interested in to more cannibal films.

4.0 out of 5 stars REMOVE THE VOCAL CHORDS, 1 Nov. 2014

The Movie Guy "Movies from A to Z" (United States) - See all my reviews
(TOP 100 REVIEWER)
This is a cheesy 80's film. In a badly dubbed NYC body parts are going missing and it appears to be the work of people from Kito, a South East Asian island. A small group goes to the island because....if makes a film. The island is filled with cannibals who prefer to eat raw innards or a nice stew. Oh yeah, there is a handful of zombies too. Yes they ransacked Laurie's apartment to steal a knife she had hanging on the wall. Bad rubber parts.

Of course when a pretty blonde is capture by a group of "savages" they must be stripped naked like Bo Derek or Ursala Andress. Don't blame me, I don't make the rules. Alexandra Delli Colli is a natural blonde.

5.0 out of 5 stars More zombie trash classics!, 28 Feb. 2010

Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Zombie Pack 2 [DVD] [Region 1] [US Import] [NTSC] (DVD)
Actually a better compilation than the first zombie packThe Zombie Pack [DVD] [Region 1] [US Import] [NTSC] this is more of a mixed bag than the previous one but definately worth a look at the low price it goes for, especially if your a fan of trashy films like these!

Burial Ground: Probably worth buying the box for alone (this goes for money more seperately) the film starts of with a beardy proffessor type releasing a curse that causes a zombie plague (whoops) right before a group of eurotrash swingers and a dwarf playing a child turn up for a weekend of debauchery (double whoops) Andrea Bianchi, notorious acolyte of the late fulci and purveyor of films that even italian grindhouse fans would consider in bad taste, delivers one of the sleaziest and outragous Zombie movies outside hardcore porno effort Erotic nights of the living dead, including the incestuous son played by a 30 year old dwarf and some quite nasty gore sequences. Bad taste aside the film is also lots of fun and well shot, making great use of locations and some pretty decent zombie make up. The film is presented in probably the best quality I've seen and in anomorphic 1:85:1 though with not much in the way of extras, this is probably the best of the three films in the box.

Zombie holocaust: aka Dr butcher M.D (medical deviant) the film follows ian muculloch from Zombie 2 as a journalist who travels to a carribean island that looks suspiciously like the one in Zombie 2 to investigate a cannibal cult (therby exploiting the cannibal movie craze as well as the zombie one)and coming across a mad scientist turning natives into zombies for some illogical and poorly thought out reasoning. Yep this film is a stinker, but a fun stinker nontheless and was banned in the u.k in spite of being crap. The disc is excellent quality and gives us extra scenes plus and interview with the special effects guy and is presented 1:85:1 anamorphic widescreen.

Flesheater: What do you do if your hard up and only really remembered as playing a lead zombie in a romero flick? If your Bill hinzman you go off and make your own damn zombie movie! This is actually a pretty entertaining zombie flick with plenty o'gore and is definately worth a look, it lacks some of the trashy italian charm of the other films but never outstays its welcome, the film is 1:85:1/16x9 widescreen and has great picture quality.

Overall this is worth a look for zombie fans and trash movie enthusiasts everywhere!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great boxset, loads of trashy fun!., 22 Jan. 2013
This review is from: Zombie Pack 2 [DVD] [Region 1] [US Import] [NTSC] (DVD)
The Zombie Pack 2 released by Shriek Show was a total blast and loads of fun. You would definitely enjoy this if you were a fan of Italian horror/zombie films or low budget trash. As you might know, it's much cheaper getting this boxset then buying the films separately.

First off, we have the cheesy cult classic Italian zombie film Burial Ground. If you're at all a fan of the Euro-Zombie genre, you'll enjoy this one. However be warned since this film has atrocious and laughable acting (Mother, this cloth smells of DEATH!!!)and bad dubbing. A professor opens a crypt and discovers the secret to "surviving death", unfortunately it also wakes the dead and they corner a group of rich and dumb aristocratic people in a beautiful villa in the Italian countryside. Where to begin? Some movies are so bad they're good, this one is so bad it's great.

The opening sequence sets the bizarre tone, when the professor is confronted by a hungry zombie he tries to make friends with it. Unfortunately being privy to the secret of undeath wasn't enough to make him realize that zombies don't make for good friends. Things get weirder when you see Michael, a little boy who (I guess) is supposed to be about eight years old, the actor playing him is a tiny thirty-year-old man with an oddly shaped cranium. You'd think that watching a man run around saying "mama, mama!" in a kid voice would be creepy enough, but there is also a scene of incest with his mom. There were some unintentional laughs, but it's a dark film. There's plenty of gore and it's top-notch. Lots of gut-eating and creative use of graphic violence (apparently the zombies were very handy with garden tools). I enjoyed the flick, if you're a zombie fanatic or gore-hound it will fit the bill.

Zombie Holocaust (aka Dr. Butcher, M.D.) is an 80's Italian effort that has more in common with the cannibal cycle than the zombie series. Titled "Dr Butcher M.D." when it came to video in the 80's, "Zombie Holocaust" is an interesting and fun blend of two different kinds of Italian Gore flicks: The Italian Zombie movie, and the Italian Cannibal movie only without any of the animal torture and mutilation of the later.

The movie has some nice gore (surgical and otherwise-including an awesome motorboat engine to the head death) and nudity to liven things up, as well as a fun score and tons of camp. Also, unlike other Italian gore flicks of the time, the movie features a little intentional humor to go with it ("The patients screaming disturbed me, performed removal of vocal chords"-that line always gets me). As yet another piece of Italian exploitation trash, Zombie Holocaust might be a Zombie 2 rippoff but since it was alot of fun you wouldn't mind, oh and it also has Ian McCulloch star of Zombie 2.

Flesh Eater in my opinion was the weakest film of the lot, I felt like it could have used more gore. Flesheater stars Bill Hinzman of Night of the Living Dead fame as the title zombie in an all out attack in the undead. The film by no means gets close to the entertainment level of the movie it draws inspiration from, Night of the Living Dead, but is still entertaining to a degree despite being highly predictable. A farmer uncovers a wooden box with a bizarre warning on it that had obviously been buried for decades, and upon opening it releases the zombie Hinzman who starts his rampage of undead terror. The acting is not the greatest and the story drags at times, but the film has it's moments, such as when Hinzman and some other zombies wander into town and attack a family in a suburban house. The ending, which I won't reveal here, is highly predictable and you can see it coming a long time off. All in all, Flesheater may not be the greatest horror film ever made, or even a great zombie movie, but it's not totally awful, either. The films all have the usual extras from interviews with cast members and crew, shriek show trailers, photo galleries (Flesh Eater also has the entire soundtrack) deleted scenes and biographies.

ZOMBIe HOLOCAST is a SENSATIONAL film! After seeing so many of theses films, I was bored with zombies gnawing on people. I don't care if they walk or run, but why are they always hungry!? The zombies in this are not hungry. They just stand and watch and breathe heavily, never interested in people to eat, not even Alexandra Dellington Col, whom even I would take a bite out of! (I wouldn't NOT take a bite out of her because she's a woman, I wouldn't NOT take a bite out of her because I'm a Vegenarian)
Mad doctors are my favourite. And this has one of the maddest. "I am determined to have your brain!", he says at one point, as he prepares to transplant the mind of a relatively young island native into the head of a slightly older westerner. The apparent mad doctor in ZOMBIE-FLESH EATERS, on the other hand, is nothing of the sort. He's just normal, and doesn't try to transplant anyone's brain anywhere. Not surprisingly the zombies in that one are hungry as well... always. The hungry ones in HOLOCAST are the human cannibals. They trap a jungle native and strip him to the bone. They swallow him down almost without chewing. This is how I used to eat my ravioli & chips as a kid. I used to eat it like this not because of this film or because I wanted to be like the cannibals, but because I wanted to get out quickly and play football with my mates. These cannibals, however, eat like this because they are very, very greedy! No, with zombies, cannibals and a mad doctor, ZOMBE HOLOCOST stands above and beyond all otters!
