This review is from: Renegotiations: the Remixes (Audio CD)
Pete Rock, DJ Premier, Erick Sermon, and Large Professor each remix a Black Eyed Peas track from their album Monkey Business. Needless to say they turn out significantly better than the originals. Also included are the only two album tracks from Monkey Business which didn't completely suck, one of which has a decent cameo from Q-Tip. Aside from this EP and possibly BEP's debut album from 98, which has it's moments, you really don't need to own any Black Eyed Peas material. They sold out so much they make P.Diddy look like Freddie Foxxx. What they are achieving by making songs like 'My Hump' with that Fergie character, apart from international success, only they know... My advice would be to search for the unreleased 1992 album by Will.I.Am and that other one's previous group Atban Klann, which sounds like a more psychadelic version of Pharcyde's first album, and is definitely worth hearing.
