As per title - great bluesy stuff, just love Roxette, esp if you have seen their performance on the 'whistle test'.

To my mind this and Malpractice are the definitive Dr Feelgood albums. From the black and white photos to the drive and energy of the band, the whole package screams authenticity. There is a minimalism in the bands work that runs through this album (and Malpractice) that could teach all artistes (and artists) a thing or two. I was fortunate to see the band on a couple of occasions before Wilco left and I was massively impressed by him and Lee Brilleaux, but coming back to this album (after many years) it’s the whole band that impress, the rhythm are tight but not machine perfect, they have that understanding that is only earned through hard work and practice, you get the sense from the live cuts on the Collector’s Edition that they would have been equally comfortably playing soul music rather than the stripped raw R&B of 1970s Britain. The original mono album is on CD 1 and a Stereo Mix is on CD2 , there a various bonus tracks and live cuts on both CDs, these extras make it worth finding the Collector’s Edition, but if you can’t don’t worry about it, just buy, play and enjoy.

This is cracking stuff. I've had a couple of Dr Feelgood albums for a while but thought I'd invest in the first from 1975. It's raw (and in mono) but great - "She Does it Right" and "All Through the City" are good fast numbers, then there's a Bo Diddley-type rocker "I Don't Mind", "Twenty Yards Behind" is almost a ska number. For 30 years old it's pretty impressive and doesn't sound dated compared to a lot of today's home grown bands.

I love showing people my vinyl version of this masterpiece and I boast about how I bought it second hand for 2.50 at Scorpion Records in High Wycombe. Mono sound and monochrome cover - a little piece of understated history!
