Better than could ever have anticipated!!!!,

This review is from: X (Audio CD)
Having been one of the first out of the starting blocks in seeing the film here in the UK, one of the things that really came across was how amazing the score for x3 was....completely different from the scores of x1 and x2, which themselves were very good, yet keeping with the central tone in a regenerated and fresh way....gets better and better taking the listener on the emotional rollercoater of the film, before building to its astonishing climax at the end in such a magnificent way as to do justice to one of the most celebrated and well-remembered comic-book storylines of all time. thoroughly worth a look if you are a fan of the film (which, while fantastic in its own right arguably did not live up to the expectations of every 'fanboy' out there), if only to take you back into this fantastic world created by singer and ratner before the dvd comes out later in the year.... while the film races through huge volumes of plot and character development, the score complements many crucial scenes, and even bolsters those scenes that perhaps were not as strong. overall a great selection of classical music pieces ranging from the easy listening of '20 years ago' and 'skating on the pond', to the heart-wrenching 'farewell to x' and 'phoenix rises.' a thoroughly well deserved 5 STARS!!!!

Music that actually moves you.,

I've never written a review on Amazon before but I've been playing 'X-Men: The Last Stand' on my mp3 player for several weeks now and feel compelled to say how wonderful it is. So much music I hear actually sounds like it was written for no other reason than to make a buck and has the emotional range of a plastic toy. This soundtrack sounds like John Powell poured his soul into it. My favourites are 'Whirlpool of Love', 'Dark Phoenix Rises', 'Dark Phoenix's Tragedy', 'The Last Stand' and the stupendous 'Phoenix Rises'.And yes Mr Powell deserves to make lots of bucks...

Great music from my favourite Marvel characters. The music for all three has suited the respective movie and this one does not fall short.

better than the film,
This review is from: X-Men: The Last Stand (Audio CD)
How many films have a better soundtrack than the actual film itself? The Last Stand is a great example that if some directors put as much detail and time as the music score then it would make billions. Not saying that The Last Stand is that bad but the first 2 X-men was what they should have aimed for. the music in The Last Stand is moving and exciting and is a joy to listen to.

Excellent Sountrack!!,

Although not anywhere near as good as the X2 soundtrack as a whole this is still extremely good listening.X-men fans (especially those that love the Phoenix) I think will love Track 14 and 26 - although both are similar as they represent the Dark Phoenix theme - they brilliantly conjur up images of the movie! 26 is by far the best track on the album and will give you goose bumps whilst listening to it!! Whilst the funeral (track 16) may bring a tear to your eye as you think of Storms speach. Some of the tracks are a bit samey but this is the norm for the X-men soundtracks and the best of this Album is by far the best in the whole series!! |
