This is going to be my Sunday-hangover marathon in-bed buddy. Charming-deadbeat Earl finds karma and decides to live his life according to rules he doesn't entirely understand by undoing all the bad stuff he's ever done. 15 episodes of funny, fresh, engaging and convincing comedy-drama built for repeat viewing - especially at those times when you just want to vegetate in the company of likable, entertaining, characters.

What happens when you write down everything bad you've ever done and then work your way through the list putting each one right? Well that's Earl's way of staving off Karma getting even with him in this hysterically funny show. Earl Hickey is or rather was a bad guy. What he could steal, he did. Whoever he could defraud, he did. But when he won $100,000 in the lottery and got mown down by a car he twigged that there was such a thing as Karma, cause and effect, so Earl made his list and set out to put his various misdemeanours right. Earl is accompanied along the way by his 'slow' brother Randy, sometimes hindering, sometimes helping, but always there.

"My Name is Earl" is amongst the best US imports for many years now after suffering seasons of homogenised humour repeated ad nauseum on E4 and Paramount. The humour is sometimes a little dark, but as yet I've not witnessed any extremes of language or anything particularly offensive - hey they can be funny without upsetting anyone! A quality show with some gut busting belly laughs. Pay specific attention to what Randy says in his "Forrest Gump" style, and don't forget to say "Hi Crabman" every time you see Darnell come into shot.

When this show hits the shelves in DVD form it is going to be a sell through hit. Hint to anyone who knows me: this would make a fine present :-)

This is my favourite US comedy of recent years. Jason Lee is note perfect as Earl and is backed by an excellent cast portraying the best collection of oddballs and off-the-wall characters since The Simpsons. In fact, imagine The Simpsons made flesh.

This is basically THE BEST COMEDY OF 2005 it is so amusing. A joy to watch. There is nothing you can complain about when watching this comedy, because there is nothing wrong with it. This series is pure humour and you will love Earl's adventures form the pilot to the last, guaranteed. Brilliant!

Not to mention the extras are good especially the lost pilot entitled "Bad Karma" is pretty good as it lasts as long as a normal episode and you get to see the reverse effect on Earl. Even the outtakes are hilarious.

Even if you have never watched this show you will love it as this is genuinely one of the best American comedies ever.

My Name Is Earl.. What a TV show. Its absolutely brilliant.

If you havent seen it before, then heres the lowdown.

It is about a guy named Earl who has been a criminal his entire life. However, Earl has a miracle, he wins $100,000 on a scratchcard. However, after revealing the lucky symbols, he goes out, gets hit by a car and loses the ticket.

It then hits him- Karma. He then realises to have a better life he must have better ways. So, whilst in hospital recovering, he writes a list of everything bad he has ever done, and puts right what he did wrong.

After doing a few good deeds, he finds the ticket.

This comedy is brilliant and is well worth watching, and for 22 half an hour long episodes, this product is well worth getting!

I missed the first few episodes of this comedy but based on the rest of what i have seen they would of been just as funny as the rest of this comedy.

Different from many other American comedies this one actually has a progressive story that is working towards an ending of some sorts, which most comedies don't have.Starring Jason Lee as Earl i guy used to the wrong side of the law until one day his luck changes and he decides to make right all of his wrongs he has ever done in his life. This is one of my favourite comedies from across the pond and i can not wait for this to come onto dvd just so i can see the episodes that i missed at the beginning and to rewatch the the whole series again,i would recommend this very highly.

AT LAST!!!!!!!!! A truly inspired comedy!!! Whilst I loved Friends with a passion the years following have been strewn with shows trying to emulate it and at last we have one that breaks away from that mould AND makes a much better job of comedy than most comedy shows I have ever seen.

Ok so Mallrats is one of my favourite movies so I was always going to watch to see anything that Jason Lee was doing next but I was really NOT disappointed. I watched these on Channel 4 in the UK over the summer (Season 2 is to start in Summer 2007 - or so they tell me) and got the box set for Christmas. It really didn't take me long to work my way through them again and this box set also includes a 'lost' pilot which has to go down as one of THE BEST dvd extras of all time!!!!!!

Do not miss this show!! Trust me - you won't want to. It's the best thing to come out of America in a long long time!!

At the point of writing this, I beleive the season isn't too far from finishing...

Man, I hope they make a second season!! I'm pretty sure I'll be buying this on DVD when it comes out too! It's one of my favourite shows at the moment. Plus, it's so different from the stale formula of US comedies.

I love the concept of the show, the cast are great, and every episode can not only be very funny, but pretty touching at times too.

I didn't watch this for years because of the adverts shown on E4. It appeared to be a show about a trailer-trash guy doing crazy stuff, and also boobs, and explosions.

It's not that at all. It's a funny, witty, touching, thoughtful and fun.

The basic premise is brilliant, and the casting is perfect. I'm sad it never got properly finished.
