These over-ride the built in safety of UK sockets,

This review is from: Clippasafe UK Socket Covers (4-Pack) (Baby Product)
By putting these, or any other socket covers in your UK power sockets, you have over-ridden the safety features which make UK sockets already safe by design, and made your children less safe.UK sockets have a shutter which covers the live and neutral contacts until a plug is inserted. Socket covers provide your child with a tool to get around these safety features in a number of ways. Don't waste your money on these items - you don't need them at best. At worst you have provided your kids with a dangerous toy. A search for Fatally Flawed on the internet will take you to a site illustrating the problems with socket covers.

These compromise the in-built safety features of UK socket outlets,
This review is from: Clippasafe UK Socket Covers (4-Pack) (Baby Product)
These do not improve the safety of UK socket outlets. All UK sockets are required to incorporate built-in safety shutters and by inserting these and similar covers upside down they can be used to open most of these safety shutters, exposing live parts. They are not manufactured to any British standard and are generally regarded within the electrical industry as at best unnecessary and at worst potentially dangerous. Google "fatally flawed" for more information.

Don't Buy!,

As has been said - UK sockets have built in internal safety covers and all these things do is override them and make the sockets more dangerous - I am an electrician by the way. Chances are the child can either break off the cover and leave the sockets live parts exposed, or turn the thing upside down; same result - or with some a child can probe around the plastic cover into the live bits - save your money and buy some cupboard anti child locks or something that actually may help protect a child.

The top prong is tappered at the top, therefore when try to insert them into the socket the will not go into the socket.

Does what it says on the packet. Arrived quickly. Good having the hole to pull it out with the end of the plug.

These socket covers work exactly how others do i.e. you just plug it in. The difference with these is that it is very easy to get them out - you just use the plug of the appliance you are plugging in to lever them out. This makes it so convenient to plug them in and out. As a comparison, my friend has some that don't have this removing mechanism and she ends up avoding using teh plugs or even sometimes not plugging the sockets back in.A bad point is that you can't buy them outright on Amazon - they have to be an 'add-on item' in an order over £20 that is dispatched from Aamzon. This was ok for me as I buy many things on Amazon so just added them in to another order but can be annoying for other buyers.

These are well made and fit very tightly in the sockets. Our little one hasn't yet been able to devise a way which would allow her to gain access to her beloved power points.
