The best original footage, the best original crowd sound (no dubbing as occurs too many times on football compilations) the best original commentary and thus the best atmosphere of the games.

Much of the glorious material is only viewable on this DVD as the BBC clearly had the best coverage it seems of any TV stations of the times.

This is Motty's babe and he does a lovely job.

Enjoy some of the fascinating friendlies including John Barnes doing a Pelé in the Maracana.

Weep at the way in which Portugal kicked Pelé out of 1966, a most unfair recompense for his generally excellent Goodison exhibition.

Worship at the altar of the peerless beauty of Zagallo's fabulous "jogo lindo" of 1970: the ultimate highlight? Pelé's last minute miss against Uruguay in the semi final.

Marvel at the stunning power and skill of the 1982 and 1986 teams then gasp as they throw it all away with their arrogance and complacency.

Lobby Motty to make another DVD and bring the story up to date.

Despite its age, the quality and content of this documentary put it way above anything else.

The skill and beauty displayed on this film took my breath away and made me smile with joy - The Brasilian teams featured were incredible entertainers who combined audacious ability with incredible enthusiasm and raw talent. They rightly deserve all the accolades heaped upon them. Having the redoubtable Motty commentating completes the perfect package.

Football at its best.

Running time is just under one and a half hours.

If you like, nay love football and maybe even not football mad but like the world cup, you should love this!

It's about the most skillful, flamboyant team that has ever graced our screens, pitches and goal mouths, Brazil, The Selecao!

Pele, Garrincha, Tostao, Didi, Santos, Torres, Jairzinho, Rivelino and Gerson to Socarates, Zico, Falcao, Bebeto, Pereria and not forgetting the goalies Leao and Gilmar amongst others too numerous to mention. They're all here in all their attack minded goal scoring glory. As soon as you see that canary yellow kit you automatically sit up and wait for the magic.

Great commentary, stunning football, sublime skills and great goals! What more can a footy fan ask for?

This is the best footage of the worlds greatest ever footballers, its taken BBC a long time to release this on DVD as the tape edition has been out for years. This shows years of footballing excellence showing the way that the game should be played. A glowing tribute to the worlds best footballing nation that is Brazil. Also shows great footage of the undoubted best player ever Pele!

Do you enjoy great sporting theater? The sort of thing that gets the hairs on the back of your neck...the Baa Baas vs All Blacks in 1973? This is the football equivalent. Watch the classic games vs Hungary and Portugal in 66...watch the greatest team in history play through 1970 (incl the England game and THAT save from Banks or the Pele "miss" vs Uruguay..."...what genius..." screams the commentator). The great games vs Italy in 82 and France in 86. OK, so you only get some short highlights and the goals for each game (each is ~2-4 mins of footage all in)...but the coverage is excellent. John Motson provides the narrative and it is excellent too...insightful and not too lumbering. His short and concise introduction to Brazil's build up to 1970 and what that was about to become is bang on. The whole package is tight, enjoyable and well presented with the right camera angles as we saw it back in the day (I say that, since I have official FIFA DVDs for 70 & 82 and the camera angles are pretty weird and just wrong! This is what we are used to...). If you like footy...esp. footy as it used to be played...buy this...that's an order!

This is - like John Motson describes some of the goals - "absolutely brilliant!" I didn't appreciate the gloriousness of the 1970 side until I got to see some of the highlights included in this DVD - Pele and co just blew the opposition off the park. Also included are highlights of England friendlies against Brazil and action from Brazilian club league games as a background to the World Cup action. They should have picked up the trophy in 78 and 82 - but football, like life, can sometimes be unfair.

The only thing I'm a bit gutted about - and I knew because the cover says it - is that it only goes up to 1986. Can we have a part two covering 86 to 2006? Motty if you don't fancy it ask Barry Davies.

A comprehensive and enjoyable documentary showing great moments of Brazilian football and the highlights of some of football's greatest players in history and not just Pele, there are Garrincha, Vava, Jairzinho, Tostao, Rivelino, the 1982 squad and others.
The goals are amazing and the setting before each world cup is included which makes you feel the atmosphere of each tournament.
The only thing that I feel is missing is no replays for the goals which are very important as most of the goals deserves to be replayed from many angles. But I think there is no substitute for this DVD with the replays included.
If you appreciate beautiful football you'll love this DVD

Fantastic footage from the BBC archives of the Brazilian national team in its absolute hey dey. The goals are stunning, and if a non football fan has heard about how great Brazilian football used to be and thinks, whatever..... Go and give them this to watch.

This DVD is a winner because it doesn't come with a needless rap or dance music track put over it- here we get original commentary and the atmosphere of it all. You tube video suffer so much from pap music played over a football match, what's the point? This is great.

I had this on VHS and used to watch it religiously when I was growing up. For some reason it never occurred to me that it may be on DVD. After finding it here I was delighted to purchase it and it was really great to watch again. The talent on display is just transcendent. Watch Garrincha take a free kick and how easy it looks, then watch CR7 take 30 and score 1 and be declared a great free kick taker. It really was a different world which this DVD captures perfectly. I would highly recommend seeing it at least once.
