Put simply, this is one of the best live cd's I've ever encountered, and listening to it instantly captivates and enthralls. System 7 have been on the music scene for a long long time, yet their music sounds as fresh, full on and relevant as ever, especially given their amazing performances these days on the festival circuit re.the glade etc. This particular cd is well worth a purchase - its not easy to pigeon hole, and not necessary to either - the first couple of tracks open on a fairly gentle, relaxed note, but by track 4, we are suddenly launched in to a gorgeous pounding groove, and as the performance continues, well, its like a juggernaut at full speed, slowly picking up the pace, but gathering momentum like nothing else I've ever heard - the sounds vary from tribal techno to spacey trance, and often a mixture of the two, with steve hillage's amazing guitar solos that creep in and out of the mix and lift the music to higher levels. Always full on, but not mindless hardcore, always uplifting, but never cheesey - you're in safe hands with system 7! but, by the end, they drop in an all time favourite (can't remember the name, but its a great tune!) that takes me back to their glorious Megadog days and makes me smile!
These guys are seriously good and well worth investigating! Live transmissions is possibly the closest you'll get to appreciating them without actually going to see them live, which everyone should!

My first System 7 title I've ever heard for myself. Is it just me or are there simply TOO many new releases being put out (at any) given time to keep track of? Liked what I heard here. Never been the biggest 'ambient / techno' fan - however I can fully appreciate this title because it has Steve Hillage on board. Tracks I was most impressed with were the Gong-like opener "Fay Deau Deau", "Teotihuacan (Pyramid Of The Sun)", the semi-hypnotic "Gazed And Diffused" and "Alpha Wave". Fans of The Orb, 808 State, Aphex Twin and The KFL should get a lot out of this live CD.

I bought this cd because Steve Hillage is brilliant and he gave us one of the best albums ever, let alone the best live album, called Live Herald. That album was outstanding but this one is a big dissappointment. Don't buy this rubbish, buy Live Herald and turn up the volume!
