3.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality remote control
Excellent TV. However, note that the remote control is cheap i.e. needs a few goes each time when pressing the buttons (same problem with another instore). Nothing like a Panasonic or Sony remote.

The performance of this Tv is great, HD signals such as movies and xbox 360 look amazing and with an up scaling dvd player through the HDMI you can get vastly improved dvd playback. Unfortuantely there are two problems. Firstly it seems that this model has a common fault through rgb where you see faint vertical scrolling lines. Secondly, and this is a common fault with all LCDs is that it suffers from uneven backlighting, again this is apparent in all LCD televisons but the Toshiba does not solve the problem.

Overall its a great tv but suffers from rgb problems although this can be avoided by using dvd (preferably upscaling) through the hdmi socket which you will want to do as it gives far superior picture quality and like all lcds can have uneven backlighting, this is something you will have to accept and learn to live with as from my years of experience there is no such thing as a perfect televison

Positive- Great picture quality and performance, excellent connectivity, perfect geometry and a good price

Negative- RGB fault and does not promise perfect backlight balance

I have read reviews on this product prior to buying it, and it seemed that for the money, you can't really do much better. The one thing that put me off a little was the reviews about the sound quality. And i think that my fears have been well and truly laid to rest....the sound quality is superb, i watched a film the day after purchase, and it was like being in the cinema (although the film was mediocre!) and booming across the room at me!

The picture setup is simple, and after pressing a few buttons, i had crystal clear beautiful picture, allowing me to see every blemish on the newsreader's faces.

All in all, this is the best TV purchase around, and for only £800 it really can't be beat! The biggest downside is the box, it's bloody huge, if you buy it in shops, you will probably need to unpack it in the car park, else it won't be going in your car!

If you're after a good size (it looks small in Comet, but trust me, you don't really need a bigger one, unless you're at that mid-life stage, or under-endowed!) HD ready TV, with connectors up the ying-yang, a great picture, beautiful sounds, and is great for playing the classics like Grand Theft Auto.....Then for the love of all that is holy, get this TV. It's great!

The Badger!!

Chose this item for its looks, price and based on a number of excellent reviews by trade magazines.

Although i was not as please with it as my year old Hitachi 32" LCD I have grown to appreciate this screen for what it is, a quality 37" LCD tv for a very reasonable price.

The picture quality is exceptable across the range of inputs once the factory settings have been changed. The feature of 2 hdmi inputs is essential with the increasing number of products offering this facility (SKT HD, HD-DVD etc).

The speakers do not produce the best sound but its good enough for me.

Overall this has so far caused no problems whatsoever and looks fntastic mounted on the wall in our conservatory.
