The worst season of Will & Grace...
on 18 August 2010
While not the most intelligent show around, being overly stereotypical, shallow and a bit too "bathroom humour" intensive, Will & Grace had always been a nice, light-hearted show with occasional snippets of hilarious comedy.
Unfortunately, the eighth season is something of a let-down. The episodes are no longer as funny as they once were, almost as if they did seven seasons and then decided to tack an eighth on the end to try and milk it for all it was worth.
It does get slightly better towards the end, so don't be completely put off by the iffy beginning.
I hated the live shows, and really don't know what that was all about. The camerawork was shoddy, blurry and used an oddly realistic lens. The comedy becomes a parody of itself when the actors can't stop laughing at their own characters' lines... I was unimpressed, and saddened to find that they repeated this live-show catastrophe again.
Will & Grace is an ok show, as long as you don't take it too seriously. Seasons one through seven can be very entertaining in places. Season eight seems to have lost some of that Will & Grace charm we had all become so used to. By all means watch it, especially if you've watched the previous seven (I hate not finishing a series once I've started it) but don't get your hopes for an amazing end to the series.
