4.0 out of 5 stars Who would have thought - Einar Orn goes "Accessible"
This is the second album from the collective headed by ex-Sugarcubes second vocalist Einar Orn. His abrasive style on the Sugarcubes records certainly put off more than a few people, especially on the second and third albums when his contributions almost always came across as interruptions rather than bona fide parts of the work. The first Ghostigital album was a little...

This review is from: In Cod We Trust (Audio CD)
This is the second album from the collective headed by ex-Sugarcubes second vocalist Einar Orn. His abrasive style on the Sugarcubes records certainly put off more than a few people, especially on the second and third albums when his contributions almost always came across as interruptions rather than bona fide parts of the work. The first Ghostigital album was a little like that too, however, this is a far more satisfying piece of work. Einar has really cut down on the shouting; his vocals are in the main more restrained, and moreover needed; and there are a few blinding tracks on this CD.

The best are Track 2 "Not Clean" featuring Mark E Smith of the Fall, also on top form, and the final track "Sense of Reason" eight minutes of well crafted metal/funk energy that shows he can survive, even thrive, without his old "backing band".

This is a very accessible, if slightly quirky and alternative album. Many of the lyrics are still rather on the simplistic side, but he has really produced an excellent sound here. If you were ever a Sugarcubes fan (or an early Bjork fan) give this a listen - I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised.

5.0 out of 5 stars I want Cod, not Haddock and Chips, 14 Jan. 2007
This review is from: In Cod We Trust (Audio CD)
This is fresh! Ghostdigital has as one of it's members the one and only, Einar Orn, Bjork's wailing sidekick in The Sugarcubes and he is as irritating as usual! That is his charm I think!

What is special about this recording is the overall sound. It is like punky electronic music, quite strange actually but very refreshing!

Best tracks are 'Not Clean' hilarious lyrics about cod! 'Sense of Reason' and 'Northern Lights' also stand out tracks.

Best way to describe this record is Kraftwerk meet The Prodigy and this is the outcome. If you are looking for something different this is well worth investigating.
