5.0 out of 5 stars Highly Recommended
Once again The Devics have produced a wonderful 10 track Journey with some creative and alternative sounds and thought provoking lyrics. Again they have upped the quality mark of the songs and this is a solid bunch of tracks taken from the Distant Radio EP released last year with 6 further tracks added.
For those of you that demand a quality in both the music written...

3.0 out of 5 stars Heavy on production, short on songs
The sound of synth pads, soundscapes, typewriter samples are carefully chosen and considered.

High on production, but with little emphasis on songs. The singing is a little too safe. It borders on being middle of the road. The Devics are capable of making a good record, but they probably need to hook up with a producer - it simply sounds like they spent too...

The Devics are capable of making a good record, but they probably need to hook up with a producer - it simply sounds like they spent too much time deliberating, forgetting the important stuff (the songs).

For those of you that demand a quality in both the music written and lyrics that 'make you think' then this is an album for you and I would also pick out some of the back catalogue as well !!.
The Devics are difficult to catch Live in Europe but catch them if you can as these tracks live will be something else...I promise you.

Devics are capable of much more. I have seen them play 3 times (the last time with a guest appearance by Simon Raymonde of Cocteau Twins fame) and they always deliver that little bit more more live than on record - but don't let that put you off: this is an accomplished piece of work although you get the feeling that they might be settling down for a slightly more comfortable life as movie score contributors - witness the upcoming Coppola/Dunst Parisian costume extravaganza!

5.0 out of 5 stars Devics return with their unique fresh sound, 24 April 2006
This review is from: Push The Heart (Audio CD)
I've been following Devics' music for a few years now. Their unique blend of mellowness and acoustic instruments has continued throughout and I feel that 'Push the Heart' has kept this sound as new as when it first began. The haunting words in Sara Lov's voice brings such songs as 'Come Up' and 'Distant Radio' to life.

If you have heard any of Devics tunes before you will surely love this album. For all those that have listened and liked the sounds of Portishead, Morcheeba and others of an eclectic laid-back genre will not be disappointed.
