This long awaited series is now finally on dvd.It has been available in the U.S for some years.The story about Englands greatest Queen was only available in the U.S region 1.Strange!But...the waiting is over!I am from Holland and a Tudor fan for more than 20 years,and I must admit it:This series is problably the finest ever made concerning English history.Glenda Jackson...

kind of amazing - kind of good drama - viewed through the thick custard of time and different production standards and acting standards. Making TV drama in 1971 looks like a hard task for the production crew. To many fake beards for my liking. A superior telling of the hiistorical story of Elizabeth I. The recent films do not bear comparison with this version.

Disappointing I found this production excruciatingly tedious. I am an avid history student and soak up all historical documentaries and films, but I just can't get into this. I gave up after the second disc.
