Each to his own but i cannot share the prev reviewers excitement regards this release,Heep were now a rudderless ship floating from one label to another, with live albums and best ofs being released right left and centre, with a heritage as great as Heeps to lead of the album with 'hold your head up' was criminal,if you like this album great,we all love different things but...

Guys check out my review on the bands latest album Wake The Sleeper. Wooohhhh. Its a rocker and you will really enjoy a must for your Heep collection and well worth the wait.
Other Heep albums I highly recommend and in no particular order.Demons and Wizards,Magicians Birthday,Look At Yourself,Sea Of light,Very Eavy.Abominog just to name a few.All available in remaster editions.
Thanks to all reviewers who take the time to write genuine and honest reviews I have myself made many purchases with Amazon on the strength and trust of reviewers.Cheers.Keep Rocking.
Please check out my other reviews you might find something of interest.

4.0 out of 5 stars Raging Silence Expanded Deluxe Edition, 20 Oct 2012

This review is from: Raging Silence (Audio CD)
As a lifelong fan of Uriah Heep, having all albums on every format (vinyl / 8-track / cassette / CD), I just had to have the expanded CD editions as well. I already had the original CD releases ... then the remastered CD releases ... and lastly(?) the expanded editions.
I bought all the expanded editions as they were released up to and including "Wonderworld" (that was in 2004). Remastered with extra tracks not included on the 1st remastered CD's, in a clear standard jewel case with an informative booklet, encased in a card outer sleeve.
I then had a few problems with life and the collection got neglected, but here I am 8 years later buying the rest of the Expanded Deluxe Editions in one go ("Return to Fantasy" to "Different World") including "Raging Silence". They are still the same product ... all the extras, special booklet, special printing on the CD, EXCEPT there is now NO printed card outer sleeve to protect the jewel case, which is a shame because as a collector, the outer card sleeve made these just that little bit special.
My own fault I suppose for delaying the purchase of these final ten CD albums, or perhaps the card sleeves were seen as superfluous on the final ten releases anyway, I don't know but the music on them and the rest of the packaging is still worth the outlay of buying the same albums again. Not for me the "Music Download", I like the packaging as much a the music and these don't disappoint. The music on this particular album is mainstream rock but as this was the first studio album for a new band lineup (that was to last 25 years) it does't push forward any boundaries. The new lineup found its feet on the "Live in Moscow" album a year earlier and studio versions of previously live only tracks are included on this expanded CD.
Just to stress the difference in the three different releases of the "RAGING SILENCE" album ....
Standard CD - (Castle Classics 1992) = all ten original tracks unremastered as per the vinyl release / card inlay / plain silver disc face / no extra tracks.
Remastered CD (Essential Music 1998) = all ten original tracks remastered / 12 page booklet with photos and lyrics / hologram-esque printing on CD face / 6 bonus tracks.
Expanded CD (Sanctuary Records 2006) = all ten original tracks remastered / 12 page booklet with photos and lyrics / lithograph photo printing on CD face / 7 bonus tracks (only three of which are the same as the Essential Music version).
If you are a true Heep fan, you will want at least the last two releases for the different bonus tracks, all three if you like your music warts and all.
If you are buying this album for the first time, obviously this expanded edition is the best value. If you are a collector, you'll get it anyway but remember that you don't get the card outer sleeve on the expanded editions anymore ... at least not on the final ten.
I have given this album 4 stars only because of the lack of the outer card sleeve which really made these feel special. Without it you are left with just the standard jewel case and the cheapening off of a special release.

This is another good Uriah Heep album in its new generation post the 70's. Still the distinctive Mick Box guitar and Heep keyboards, but also good vocals.
