3.0 out of 5 stars Not sure
Although Chris Botti plays with his usual precision and incredible control I don't think collaborations of SOME of the pairings on this disc quite come off. Chris clearly outshines everyone on this disc with perhaps an equal footing shared with Sting and Michael Buble. Although Chris Botti plays with his usual precision and incredible control I don't think collaborations of SOME of the pairings on this disc quite come off. Chris clearly outshines everyone on this disc with perhaps an equal footing shared with Sting and Michael Buble. Paul Buchanan murders 'Are You Lonesome Tonight' and Steven Tyler's rendition of 'Smile' is a close second. An idea that should have been kept on the drawing board - its more than enough to let Chris Botti speak for himself. Botti's musicianship stops this disc sliding down to 2 stars.

I have several of his CD's now. Easy listening with many tunes I recognise. Trumpet not too strident. Will probably buy another of his.

I came across Chris Botti through a singer called Paula Cole (whose later work is fabulous) and it took me a while to track down Chris's work as most of it released in the US. This album is a must for all lovers of mellow jazz. Chris's superb trumpet playing, accompanied on a lot of tracks by some world class singers including Sting, is totally relaxing and either excellent as a mellow listen or as background to a 'quiet night in' with your special other half! The track with Paul Cole, 'My one and only love' is worth buying the entire album for alone.
