5.0 out of 5 stars Trivial Pursuit for the Now Generation
I confess that Trivial Pursuit is a game that has daunted me for years at get-togethers (usually of much older people), but the 90's version has proved to me that I was actually paying attention during this decade, so much so that it almost feels like cheating. This is a great game for those in their late 20s/early 30s, if for nothing else but a trip down memory lane. A...

3.0 out of 5 stars much better for late 20s/ early 30s
trivial pursuit has always been a bit of a drag as there are so many old questions that are totally before my generation

this is a good mix of 90s questions that will really suit people around my age who grew up during the 90s

4.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Updated Trivial Pursuit Game, 24 April 2006
By

This review is from: Trivial Pursuit 1990's Edition (Toy)
After recently purchasing an updated trivial pursuit Genus edition and being bitterly disappointed by the badly worded questions, cheap playing pieces and a poorly designed board I was hoping for better - I wasn't disappointed! This edition of Trivial Pursuit was excellent. The first thing of note is that the board has returned to having 6 spaces in between each 'cheese' space/square so that a player cannot roll a six and simply end up winning the next cheese and so on - this was a major fault in the updated Genus Edition that I bought. The questions where well worded and came grouped into three colour coded categories of different periods of the 90's - these corresponded to a colour coded dice ensuring an even spread of questions across the decade. The playing pieces where nice and sturdy (made of metal) and felt good quality. An excellent game overall - especially for people in their late 20's and early 30's would have been growing up in this decade. My only complaint (hence the 4 stars instead of 5) is that the box states suitable for players aged 15 and over. Given the decade that these questions relate I don't think that a 15 year old would be able to answer a lot of the questions.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not a bad game but it suffers in several regards, 29 Nov 2006

The fun and quality of this game unfortunately are limited in several ways: 1) Many of the questions and answers are repeated--quite often with only a slight a rewording. 2) Only one tray of cards is included in the game, unlike the two sets found in the older Trivial Pursuit games. 3)The question cards are sorted by year hence you have to shuffle four large stacks of cards to begin with which can take some time to do. 4) Lastly, most of the questions tend to consist of pop culture topics. You will find what seems like too few questions on topics like politics, world events, or literature and far too many questions on TV shows, movies, and internet fads. A more balanced range and selection of questions would vastly have improved the fun and repeat playability of this edition.
