This is Prince's low-key New Orleans hurricane disaster benefit single, proceeds from which, go to the victims.
The song was recorded very recently (naturally) and put up for almost immediate pay-download on Prince's official website, so kudos to Prince for putting something out there so fast, and without making a martyr of himself for the cause - although of course a little publicity would have helped the singles sales, and thus the money raised, but he got the single out so fast, kudos nonetheless.
The song itself - S.S.T. (Sade's Sweetest Taboo, which was the influence for the track) is a rather casual affair, expected given it's quick recording, and isn't particularly interested, or standout, in the Prince canon, a rather typical exercise in treading water, a mid-tempo Funk jam, of which Prince does so many, they're starting to all blend into each other and lose any meaning.
The B-side, Brand New Orleans, is the second half of the song, which takes into, again, a rather predictible Stevie Wonder/Sly Stone-esque Funk Jam - nothing we haven't seen before from Prince.
Regardless of this, the song is for a good cause, so slap down your cash!
