As the next installment in the bands incredible discography Suspicious Activity does not disappoint. It has all the hallmarks of a quality Bad Plus record: brilliantly put together pieces, a band impressively in sync with each other, an incredible range of styles from chilled, contemplative melodies to loud and experimental freestyle jams(often all in the same piece). There are so many highlights on this album: the beautiful "prehensile dream", the catchy "anthem for the earnest" and a brilliant cover of the theme from chariots of fire to name but a few. If you like original and inspired music you must buy this album.

I bought this after I heard "Anthem for the Earnest" -- been playing it over and over the past couple of days. I'm not the greatest jazz fan in the world, but if you like to hear people playing their instruments (and have a sense of humour) this might be of interest. I'm starting to listen to the more pure jazz tracks now as well.

It's not often a jazz based album will raise a smile, but the Bad Plus does just that for you.
There are moments of somewhat chaotic, almost freeform passages, then suddenly switching back to a well known melody.
No doubt these guys can play though.
At the end of the day, I was highly entertained, and that makes a good plus in my book.
This will get a lot of repeat play.
