4.0 out of 5 stars Cool toy, but there's a design flaw you will want to be ready to fix
This toy straps to your left wrist. It then forms a card holder both for cards that are in play and those that are still in the deck. It looks just like the model used by characters in the animated TV series, and is great for general play and posing, but there is a minor problem if you try to use it for a card game (or "duel"). Basically you have a small card table...

3.0 out of 5 stars yu gi oh gx academy duel disk
This is probably my least favourite duel disk. One of the reasons is that it is bloody heavy!Because of it's weight, you can't keep it up straight. It just keeps on tilting. There is one way to fix this though.Strap it on tight. But then again,no blood will get to your arm, so it'll go purple. That's one problem, are there any more?Of course! The graveyard is WAY too small.It...

This review is from: Yu-Gi-Oh Academy Duel Disk (Toy)
This toy straps to your left wrist. It then forms a card holder both for cards that are in play and those that are still in the deck. It looks just like the model used by characters in the animated TV series, and is great for general play and posing, but there is a minor problem if you try to use it for a card game (or "duel"). Basically you have a small card table strapped to your wrist by a bracer arrangement. It is heavy, and tends to rotate around your wrist so that the card table points down. Then the cards fall out. While playing the game you need your left hand free to hold your hand of cards, so you can't steady the disc with your hand. And we couldn't comfortably strap the bracer on tight enough for the duel disc to stay in place on friction only (might not be a problem for larger or bulkier players; our duel disc is used by a 10-year-old duellist). However, we've fixed ours by adding a neck strap - it passes around the "graveyard" section (think of the toy as looking a bit like an H - the graveyard is the cross-bar of the H) and goes around the player's neck. We find this enhancement works nicely and the toy is now a success. You could use a wide trainer lace or ribbon, and might want to have one to hand before giving this toy to your budding Jaden Yuki.
