Pre times of impressive venues (Edinborough castle, horseguards parade etc)this is Mike with requisite session musicians in a no frills show. If like myself though, you have fond childhood memories of the 'coffee and beige' 70's with an Oldfield 'soundtrack' then you will appreciate this last snapshot of Mike before his focus turned to pop singles, unimpressive ambient albums and god forbid a Trevor Horn produced sequel to Tubular Bells!. Good versions of Incantations and Tubular Bells here, although part two of Tubular Bells is missing several minutes at the start, strange... don't know if this bit of footage is lost or Mike just decided to drop the intro for this concert. Also sadly missing is a 'master of ceremony's' at the end of part one, slightly disappointed as this is one of my favourite bits. The multi-angle facility is good, as is the 5-1 sound. For fans only!

This is not as fantastic as the other reviewers say. It's more like a dvd of a classical concert than a rock one, ie lots of musicians almost motionless. I was thinking that there would be loads of effects but there is very little. The editing is so bad that the "muti-angle" feature is almost a necessity rather than a bonus. The main camera angle consistently fails to film the musician playing the melody and on one occasion lingers on Mike Oldfield sat down doing nothing. I guess that was 1979 for you.

Bought this for Pierre Moerlen's appearances. Great!

WOW! What a great DVD, great to finally see Mike interacting with the audience after just hearing the concert on CD for years.

Sound quality superb, the only complaint I have is that the lighting is a bit dark.

A must for Oldfield fans.
