Read the review above - I believe 1 star means 5, because this soundtrack backs up what was a personal, if somewhat narrow view of the South (not that I'm any kind of guru on the subject). With sizzling tracks from the gorgeous Cat Power and 16 Horsepower, this selection nicely evokes a haunting, backward and spiritual atmosphere of the South, reminiscent to the film Delivery, in places. This selection provides a nice introduction to many fine artists of the Americana/Gothic genre and is a must for fans of White.

This is amazing. I was led to this cd by seeing " Searching for the Wrong-Eyed Jesus on the BBC. The musicians are all new to me , but I keep playing this cd over and over again

Wow saw the Arena show on TV last night late - one of the best things I have seen on the box in ages. The filming, the locations and the music sound track gave you the lives of the forgotten down and out whites of the rural south. Despite there being a big film crew the film still gave you the feeling that Jim White was talking to You the viewer rather than the camera man / director etc.
