Ghostbusters is undoubtabley one of the most nostalgic movies of the 80s. In 1984, I was a wee kid watching Ghostbusters and I got easily scared as a six years old. The scene showing the ghost in the library scared me the most, making a sudden howling noise. The face of the ghost pertified me at the time. I covered my eyes accompanied by my parents.. In 1988, a sequel was released. Ghostbusters 2 worked well, even though it did not receive favorable reviews by critics. The special effect superb at the time, but obviously outdated now.

Ghostbuster is about a group of mad scientists with a point to prove about supernatural activities. The trio get expelled from the University and decide set up their own business setting up Ghostbusters. Do ghosts really exist? New York is haunted by supernatural activities.. The business is under investigation from authorities. Csn they convince the auhtorities? Ghostbusters 2 builds on the same theme about evil spirits concerning a sinister art potrait with a history to unfold.

Ghostbusters is a big name movie of the 80s. The nostalgic value of the franchise is enormous It features classic soundtracks like Who are you going to call? Ray Parker Jnr. The humour and characters stand out really well, as each character are different. The subject matter of supernatural activities is fascinating to explore. Ghostbusters maintains balance between Egan, the intelligence one. Peter, a showman, Ray, wn inventor and Winston, religious.

I am pleased to add Ghostbusters in my growing blue ray collection. I love it. If you are fan of 80s movies, Ghostbusters is a great choice. It is fun and entertaining science fiction film.

These two priceless gems hit out at the world of horror squealing 'there is no need for horror to be scary'.
Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd among others demonstrate the power of good scripting as these films deliver both comedy and a thrill.
Without a doubt two of the best films ive ever seen and i go weak at the knees whenever i hear the theme tune.
They will take you back to your childhood and return you to the ride of your life.
A must buy for anyone around 20years old now. If you havent seen them, what are you doing.

Great Movie, love it (Ghostbusters), Part 2 is ok, mostly because the cast is back together.
Great Bluray (Picture & Sound).

What to say about this 2 Dusc Anniversary release...

If you're just in it for the movies alone - they look good! Go for it!

BUT - if you're a BIG and lifelong GHOSTBUSTERS fan and are interested in bonus features and behind the scenes footage - this is where it becomes a let down.

Nothing much in the way of anything special at all for the first movie (same stuff ported from the DVD edition from 14 years ago) and the long time unavailable music video and a smile worthy new documentary that gives no new real insight to the film. Still a lot of material that could have been made available like the Boss Films documentary footage, B-Roll footage and material from the 25 year old U.S Criterion Laserdisc. Kind of disappointing.

Ghostbusters 2 fares slightly better. Some ok deleted scenes and bonus trailers with a mediocre short documentary and the already available Bobby Brown music video.

Still - I bought this more for the first movie (I already own both previous Blu-Ray releases) and it gets the three stars for the poor anniversary treatment that was oversold by Sony Pictures. Otherwise the films alone would get 5 stars for the first film and 3 stars for the second.
