Tony Hancock and Sid James were undeniably a great team and with such strong scripts behind them and their own natural coming timing the humour was and is truly inspirational and has a sense of timelessness which can be enjoyed again and again.
If you want to enjoy truly classic comedy then sit back and watch such rare gems which have rarely been seen.
The only disappointing thing about this DVD is the fact that there are only 5 episodes on it and no extras included.
1-Ericson the Viking
2-The Set That Failed
3-The New Nose
4-The Oak Tree
Four of these treats I have never seen before so I found it money well spent regardless of the price.
Of particular amusement is always the adlibbing between Tony and Sid made to cover up their mistakes as it was filmed live.

I bought this as a Fathers' Day present ( along with volume 4) My Dad was delighted with it - he had volumes 1 and 3 so volumes 2 and 4 were very welcome. Tony Hancock is remembered as a genius of comedy and this didn't disappoint.

DVD arrived promptly, I bought it for my Husband who is making a collection, he was very pleased with it and enjoys watching it when there's nothing else on the box . Tony Hancock really makes him laugh, it's easy viewing and gentle humour.

Hilarious episodes of the all-time great comedy series. Episodes include The New Nose, in which a very senstive Hancock, having had his nose mocked by a girlfriend, decides plastic surgery is the only answer. The Oak Tree sees Hancock determined to protect the mighty old tree which has stood in his garden for many generations. In Ericson the Viking, Hancock attempts to corner the TV historical-drama market. Tony Hancock is at his comic best here, aided by fellow comic/film genius Sid James. Whereas some old comedy series now look and feel dated, this series is as fresh and hilarous as when it was made.
