Classic Street Poetry.
on 1 November 2000
Approaching this as a Greatest Hits album is probably the best way to appreciate this album. All the tracks are from JCC's early years, but that does not detract from the fact that this is some of his finest work. Razor-sharp satire, coupled with an incredibley depressing but very real outlook on life mark out Clarke as the original street poet. Equally passionate, viscious and humourous, he grabs you by the scruff of the neck and thrusts your face into the post-war modern world of Manchester. This album, perhaps more than the highly acclaimed 'Snap, Crackle & Bop', should be an essential addition to the collection.
