This truly must be the best of the Zippo Lighter's currently available. It has a much heavier and more robust feel to the non armour type which I find somewhat plasticcy compared to the older variants. Using it has so far been a pleasure - reliable flame - good spring open action - no leakage.

In short it lives up exactly to what it would say on the tin if it came in one !

This is a mans lighter, it is solid, good to use and looks the business.
It lights every time and stays lit in the wind.
Would recommend to anyone who wants a trouble free lighter that will last.

Exellent quality and finish, workes very well. Has a loud "metallic-click". First choice for any one in the military or if you spend a lot of time in a "salty-marine-air" enviroment. Will withstand a tremendous amount of abuse and works well for engraving/steampunk prodjects. Fully "souped up" it clocks in at 71 grams. However: It works less well as an improvised hand-warmer compared to the regular Zippo. Like any Zippo it will leak when over filled. The burner has a less snugg fit than in a regular Zippo, due to the Armor`s non flexible shell-walls. The hinge is the same as in the regular Zippo. Easy on the Zippo tricks, or you will destroy the hinge due to the Armor's greater weight, 11g more than a regular Zippo. But in all, it will serve you well for the rest of your life, exellent lifetime guarantie that they really back up. Support one of the last remaining petrol-lighter companies in the world. All people in the world should have a Zippo to use in survival situations when butane gas is unavalible! Military: Zippo Armor. Arctic hunters: Regular Zippo. Lightweight community "Gram-hunters" Zippo-slim. Cigarr buffs- Zippo Blu. Everybody else: Just pick any Zippo you like! Best of luck from Bob in Sweden, and yes yankies that is in Scandinavia, Europe : )

As per the title, if you only buy one Zippo (although I'm not sure why you would), make it this one. Not only does it look a wonderful mix of classy and expensive, all decked out in its gold-coloured exterior, but being part of the 'Armor' range it has a weight and solidity that normal Zippos lack. Yes, it still has those traits (quirks) that all Zippo lighters share like a slightly wobbly cap when open and a complete inability to hold fuel for anything more than a couple of weeks without it completely evaporating, but that takes nothing away from what's a solid and reliable lighter that's only made that much better by being housed in a solid brass suit.

That suit, though, is the Zippo's one Achilles' heel, as it attracts fingerprints and scratches like pretty much nothing else on the planet, in fact mine arrived fairly tarnished even though it was plainly new, with a `2014' date stamp on the bottom. I'm not massively concerned because, as another reviewer said, marks serve to give it character and a quick going-over with Brasso might do the trick, but I was still slightly disappointed not to receive a pristine example.

This item is excellent, sturdy, very well built a typical Zippo a great everyday for use lighter,it been polished brass it will show scores, but these i think add character and i prefer a used look.
If buying this lighter you will not be disapointed, it is exactly what it is a Zippo, and you can't go far wrong with it.

really a lovely thing to behold. comes out of the box like a jewel. it's like something that should be crated up and trundled away into that warehouse at the end of raiders of the lost ark.
in use, of course, that finish won't stay shiny for long but a bit of brasso will bring it back up.
i was surprised by its size. expected it to be bigger than a regular zippo but it isn't. there has been a sacrifice in doing this. the fuel reservoir is now smaller which means you'll need to fill it more often. not a big problem once you get used to it...and it'll still go a good while between drinks (unlike myself). i like the bottom of it too...flush rather than recessed...like zippos used to be.
nicest example i've ever owned.

Having had Zippo lighters for years, I recently lost my 20 year old polished Brass anniversary model. Looking for a replacement I found this "armored" model. The parcel arrived in time, and being familiar with Zippo lighters there was no surprise when I opened the package. The new lighter is every bit as good as I expected but, as it is the so called armored model, it is somewhat heavier due to the greater wall thickness of the material. I was astonished that this lighter feels even more solid than the standard Zippo. If you are looking for a practical every day use Zippo lighter, look no further. I can't imagine anything better looking or more reliable.

I had couple of ZIPPO's before, stainless steel ones, with some print on them (comes of after short while). This one is first one I bought, as others were a gift from friends. It seems to have thicker case, its heavier and it looks really good and solid. At first it seems way to shiny but after couple of weeks its full of small scratches, and that gives it all character. I emptied the house, car and work place of everything able to create fire so I can show off more often:) I will recomend it to my friends.

Truely this is a great lighter. Good weighty feel. Brass is beautifully polished. Looks fantastic. Everything you expect from such a quality brand. I dont even smoke and i love having this on my person. The feeling you get from the click open to the flame is far superior to anything else out there on the market. Will be buying another very soon i like this so much. I have had this for three months, used it daily and there isnt a scratch on it. Great product. Easy to fill / maintain.

This is my second Zippo lighter ever, the last one lasted more than 20 years but was lent to a friend never to be returned. This one is brass as opposed to my last one which was highly polished chrome. As soon as I opened the box (which was incredibly small btw) and took it out, I filled it with fuel noticing that now there is a fuel pin-hole in the retaining foam at the base of the wadding, so really easy to fuel up - just pushed the plastic nozzle into this hole (my last lighter you used to have to lift the foam part to squirt lighter fuel directly into the wadding) and hey presto lit first time! Just as you would expect from a Zippo. Have tried it outdoors in the blustery weather and has not gone out until I deliberately closed the lid. Zippo lighters are so reliable and durable and so easy to buy replacement parts for. My leather Zippo belt-holder is complete again.

Only thing about brass Zippo lighters is that they do get micro-scratches really easy, especially around the base area on the lower sides, but they do polish up well with Brasso. Mine is scratched on day 1, but that only makes it look like its been used. These are functional items and not ornaments, so it does not bother me in the least.
