Jack Johnson is my favourite discovery of the summer. All his songs are based around an infectious guitar rhythm and melody, of the kind that sticks in your head forever! They're upbeat, mellow, thoughtful and radio-friendly, so you'll no doubt hear his singles being played more and more. His lyrics are great, meaningful but very sing-along too. I only had to hear 'Good People' on the radio before I knew that I liked Jack, and that song is a good guide to what you'll find on this album. There are no duff tracks on it, and I never find myself skipping any of them; the album-only songs are just as good as the singles. 'Staple It Together' is funky, nod-your-head music, whereas 'Better Together' is a nice gentle intro that strolls along at an easy pace. The live version of 'Mudfootball' (featuring G. Love and Donavon Frankenreiter) is a great ending to a great album.
It's just perfect for playing on hot summer days, and no doubt for reminding you through the winter that there are warmer days to come! If you need a lift, I suggest you listen to Jack Johnson. You won't be disappointed. Good packaging and sleeve booklet too, including all the lyrics. Definitely worth every penny, and 5 stars too.

This 3rd offering from Jack Johnson is more accessible than his previous albums and the catchy rhythms and hooks will have you humming the melodies for weeks afterwards. Not as intimate as his other work and no stand out track to rival cocoon on his on and on album, all the tracks are of a consistent standard. Buy it enjoy it, you will still be playing it a year from now.

This album, well what can you say? classic Jack as cool, and mellow as he (and no one else it seems) can go but at the same time tracks suchas "Good People" and "Staple it Together" are funkier and really make you dance. Again just like what jack Johnson has a knack to do with previous songs like Flake and Bubble Toes.
All together this is a Great album, a must for any one in to chilled, summer feeling music (i was listening to this album as it snowed and it made me feel like the sun was shining.) Compared to his other albums i would put it on a par with "On and On" with "Brushfire Fairytales" bein my favourite (but just by a short way!) If you enjoy music that makes you feel that everything is right with the world then this is it. Excellent!!!

This album is pure genius!

While tailing off towards the end, the first half has some of my favourite songs of all time, including the singles Better Together and Sitting, Waiting, Wishing.

I have friends of all different musical tastes from classics to scary Emo stuff, but they all love it!

Look out for Banana Pancakes as the best songe ever, can make andyone chillax!

In my opinion every Jack Johnson album has been pretty samey, but everytime its perfect.
This is a perfect CD to forget that you live in overcast Britain to. A combination of melodies perfect for knodding your head to and a voice that every acoustic artist should wish for before they go to bed.
This is an amazing cd, with the exception of Belle, which could have been forgotten. It's hard to pick out better tracks, because as with the other two albums every song has the potential to be a hit.
Advice.....Just buy it, its £9, and its beautiful, plus im yet to meet someone who has heard jack and isn't a fan. Its music for everyone. Its hard to trust the word of a complete stranger, but if you buy it and you dont like it, listen to it again, you'll realise the brilliance of it.

I first heard Jack when I was in Australia, he is huge over there and wasn't heard of in the UK at the time. At first I found his music hard to appreciate but once you've lived the laid back lifestyle that is Australia, Jack will become part of your every day life whether you like it or not.

Every song on this album means something to me and brings back so many happy memories that it is now my favourite album of all time. Jack Johnson is simply amazing and if you close your eyes he can take you to a far away beach, the sun, the sea, the sand and the surf. It's what his music is all about.

As an Australian, Jack Johnson is pretty much a household name around here, primarily I guess because he suits our mostly laid back lifestyle so well. That's why I was looking forward to the release of this album too. And it definetely didn't disappoint. While I am a fan of almost all genres and appreciate musical technicality and boundary pushing, theres a lot to be said for a simple singalong to take the mind off things. This CD is even better for such a purpose than Jack's first two in my opinion. The reason for this may be credited to Jack's noticeable maturing in writing and guitar playing. Songs like Belle show off chord progressions that aren't half as basic as his old ones, yet still beautiful and easy to listen to.
Belle would have to be my favourite song; everything about it is just so simple and it almost puts the listener in the middle of France just by listening to it. Otherwise, everything is great and in my opinion the single Sitting, Waiting, Wishing is probably my least enjoyable - that's how good the album is.

Jack Johnson is, without doubt, one of the greatest acoustic artists there has been. Each and every song is written thoughtfully by him, and then complimented with a relaxing guitar and chilled out voice. Johnson simply creates the most mellow mood with the best songs you will ever hear. True to life songs about love, life and relationships; anyone can relate to these chilled out tunes. he is finally getting the deserved recognition, and he was voted best USA newcomer at the BRIT's. Johnson has reched number 1 with this excellent album, and after hearing his first single 'Good People', I did'nt hesitate to buy it! I am not disappointed, and will be listening to it for a while yet! Excellent

Initially resistant to the Hawaiian surfer dude's gentle acoustic pondering, I bought this for my wife and am now very much a fan. Johnson's main strength is his natural demeanour; carefree, placid and warm; it's very easy to imagine that he is like this all the time. Songs such as 'Better Together', 'Banana Pancakes' and 'Staple it together are neither particularly emotive nor are they suggestive of anything other than you hear from the lyrics. That's not to say that Johnson has no depth, but that he has tapped into an elusive vein of peace and charm that means his songs wash over you but leave you refreshed and optimistic at the same time.

This Special Edition contains one extra track: 'Mudfootball', and for the price it's worth getting this one.

Before I bought this album a few weeks ago I had only ever heard a couple of Jack Johnson tracks before. I wasn't sure if I would like it, but i took the risk after reading the good reviews of the album on Amazon and bought it anyway. I am so glad that I did - and it hasn't yet left my cd player! In Between Dreams is full of summery laid-back songs. Great tracks include; the gorgeous 'Sitting, Waiting, Wishing', the up-beat 'Staple it Together' and the chilled 'Crying Shame'. Actually there aren't any tracks i don't like. If you love accoustic chilled out music I would advise you to buy this album. Reminds you of perfect lazy days on the beach.
I could listen to Jack Johnson's voice forever. Just beautiful.......
