The 2004 edition of the 18th annual Survivor Series ended up being an amazing event for the WWE.
Match of the night had to be the first match-up between the Undertaker and Heidenreich, with the RAW traditional elimination match coming out as the second best match of the night :).

My Survivor Series 2004 Review:
Rey Mysterio vs Billy Kidman vs Chavo Guererro vs Spike Dudley: ****
This was a fantastic opener, with four great cruiserweights delivering the best quality amount of high flying action.
Christian vs Shelton Benjamin: ****
A match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship, and a match that was so impressive by both superstars.
Team Angle vs Team Guererro: ****
One of two traditional Survivor Series elimination matches with this one involving superstars from Smackdown. You had an all amount of true talent in this match, along with some good team work by both teams.
Undertaker vs Heidenreich: ****
I really enjoyed this one, after ruining the Undertaker's chance of becoming the WWE champion, The Undertaker finally gets some payback in
pulling off a good performance.
Lita vs Trish Stratus: *
I love Lita and Trish, but only giving this match a * rating because it only lasts a few minutes.
JBL vs Booker T: ****
A match for the WWE Championship, which has all kinds of drama, but a very enjoyable match to sit through.
Team Orton vs Team Triple H: ****
A chance for one team to run RAW for a month, an explosive main event with some amazing talent to finish off this excellent Survivor Series.
Overall this is one of my favourite Survivor Series shows, a 100% recommendation.
on 4 April 2005
Survivor Series used to be my second favourite pay per view of the year back when all the matches were the classic survior series matches. Although this was a decent show at best, it was no where near the classic Survivor Series PPVs of old.
The main event pitting Randy Orton, Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit and Maven against Triple H, Batista, Edge and Snitsky was easily the best match of the night and is fun and enjoyable to watch. The story leading up to this match is also awesome if you caught the episodes of Raw previous.
Unfortunatly, the rest of the card was somewhat disapointing. Christian and Shelton Benjaman had the second best match of the night for the Intercontinental Title and Smackdown's classic survivor series was too short and came up as a disapoitment.
Other disapointments included the WWE Championship match between Booker T and JBL and Heidenreich vs Undertaker was possibly the worst PPV match of 2004. The women's championship match was literally nothing and would have served a better purpose on Raw and the cruiserweight fatal-four-way despite having high expectations wasn't given enough time and failed to impress.
Overall, it was a one match PPV, and unless you're desperate to see Raw's classic survivor series match save your cash for another purchase.

Coming hot on the heels of taboo tuesday which was very average, survivor series followed and raised the bar higher but not to a grand scale,in other words, this didnt live up to the hype aimed at it.
The event started with a reasonable level of quality in a fatal four way for teh cruiserweight title involving the champ spike dudley, chavo, billy kidman and rey mysterio,in truth all men were capable of better, and certainly i have seen many a cruiserweight match that would have this one blushing with shame, that being said ,this still had some quality but not quite the heart attack it should have been in my opinion.
This match was followed by a match of sheer quality, the intercontiental champion shelton benjamin went up against christian in a match that was as good as it sounds,a very pacey, highly charged affair that got the crowd going,a power struggle of a match that left no doubt that at this juncture both men were a credit to the industry, shame there can only be one winner then.
Next up was a traditional survivor series match, four on four, team angle who had kurt angle, carlito, luther reigns and mark jindrak going up against team guerrero who had eddie guerrero, the big show, rob van dam and john cena. This was a good match, carlito wimped out of this match before it started which was annoying but aside from that there was enough going on here to keep everyone entertained.
Next up we get the undertaker going up against heidenreich, this match was ok,their match at the royal rumble 2005 was a joke, but this was ok,maybe a little too epic for its own good but at least heindenreich looked like a man worthy of fighting the taker here,he isnt a wrestling icon by any stretch of the imagination but this match was ok.
This was followed by perhaps the most pointless womens title match of all time, lasted barely a minute and had the crowd perplexed,at least some blood was drawn i guess but what a load of rubbish, the female champ trish was pitted against lita for the hundreth time in a match worthy of the bin, tripe.
Next up was the WWE championship match between the champ JBL and booker t who had a good few months prior to this and deserved his chance, this was a good match in truth, very good in places and both men worked off each other very well, the ending may frustrate some but thats the way it goes, but on reflection i thought this was a good title match.
The main event was next and again was a traditional survivor series match, the match also had an extra incentive, whichever team won would then run raw for the next four weeks, each member getting a weeks ownership, the teams were thus, team orton which was made up of randy orton, chris benoit, chris jericho and maven against team triple h which was made up of triple h ,edge ,batista and snitsky, this was a great contest where trust for team triple h was a big issue and added a bit of drama to the contest, both teams enjoyed their section of dominance and the crowd were rallying this on,very good indeed, but as an overall event this fell somewhat short,3 stars out of five and thats that.
Survivor Series 2004 was a big dissapointment. We were given only poor-decent matches and there was nothing in the show to remember. What makes it more dissapointing is the fact the World Heavyweight title wasn't on the line in one of the "big 4" pay-per-views. It was so different from the previous years Survivor Series were we were given good matches and storyline teasers were produced for the forthcoming Wrestlemania. Sadly, we weren't even given them!
Here are my reviews:
FATAL 4 WAY
Spike Dudley Vs Rey Mysterio Vs Chavo Guerrero Vs Billy Kidman 4/5
Cracking opening match by the lightweights. Sadly though, it doesn't look like the WWE are going give them bigger bookings.
8 MAN ELIMINATION TAG TEAM MATCH
Kurt Angle, Luther Reigns, Mark Jindrak & Carlito Cool
Eddie Guerrero, Rob Van Dam, Big Show & John Cena 2/5
Poor match thanks to a sloopy brawl at the start of the match, made even worse by some bad in-ring action.
Trish Stratus Vs Lita 1/5
Terrible. The problem was the match didn't even get started! They just performed a messy brawl. The boos from the fans said it all.
The Undertaker Vs Heidenreich (W/Paul Heyman) 2/5
Another poor match. Heidenreich is just plain bad and Taker has passed his prime.
Shelton Benjamin Vs Christian (W/Tyson Tomko) 4/5
Best match of the night for me. Benjamin is a star for the future and Christian is the most underrated performer in the company.
John 'Bradshaw' Layfield (W/Orlando Jordan) Vs Booker T 3/5
Average match with a bad ending. Booker receives ANOTHER shameful screw job in a title match. Hands up all who are getting fed up of JBL being champion?
8 MAN ELIMINATION TAG TEAM MATCH
Randy Orton, Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho & Maven
Triple H, Batista, Edge & Gene Snitsky 4/5
Neat stipulation to this match. The team who wins would each take turns of being the general manager of RAW during the 4 weeks Eric Bischoff was on vacation. Good match with top-class performances from Orton, Benoit and Jericho.
Sadly, it's a pay-per-view that won't be remebered for anything. If I were you, I would keep away from this and get either Wrestlemania XX, Backlash or Taboo Tuesday.
